What kind of leather effect are you going for, exactly?
Do you want weather-beaten leather, aged leather, fresh leather, etc?
There's a lot of different effects you can get, but they mostly boil down to using different shades of browns or greys for the leather color, and then using various shades of washes (from dark browns to black) to apply the "patina" to it.

Okay then, you want a lighter brown color for the leather itself.
And then a flesh/sepia tone and a dark brown tone for the wash.

One problem with leather is that there isn't a "leather" color per se. There are thousands of shades of brown that can end up in leather that hasn't been dyed. It is for this reason that I have like 40 shades of brown in my paint collection. I like having variety in the leather that is on my troops, as it breaks the assembly line look of ranked up soldiers. I imagine that no single tannery is able to supply enough leather for the army, and as such the different tanneries use different cattle and chemicals to make their brand of leather.
That said, leather on models is pretty much a 3 step process:
Pick your base color which will be the main color of the piece
Pick how you want to shade it, some washes make it darker, some make the leather "redder" some just simple shade the recesses.
Pick your highlight color. This should be the same hue as your base color, just lighter(meaning not more red, yellow, green or other color, as those change the hue of the brown altogether).
It sounds complicated, but really if you look at your selection of browns, the complementary colors should stand out. Some browns are more red, some more yellow, some more green.

Thanks for the replies!
@Aerethan do you have a particular shade of brown that you use for the base?

For speed painting stuff I use Calthan Brown as the base, shade with Devlan Mud, and highlight with something like Graveyard Earth or Khaki.
But that also depends on the main colors of the model. I'm doing some Beastmen right now that have Calthan as the skin, so I am using Snakebite Leather for their leather parts with no highlight, then wash the whole thing with Devlan Mud.
To better convey what I mean by hues for browns, Snakebite Leather has more yellow and a little green in it, whereas Bestial Brown has more red in it. Calthan Brown is fairly neutral, somewhere in the middle. It is probably my favorite brown paint, so hopefully my 4 pots of it last me a while as I haven't found a suitable replacement yet.
