Hi All,

I'm looking for active clubs around East London (I live in Wapping) closer to London Bridge the better. Closest GW shop is Covent Garden and that only has one evening.

Any suggestions would be great.

I've posted in pretty much every London thread for months, and I still have not found a suitable club. But that's to my taste at least. Here's what I've found which might benefit you:

There's Cross Gaming Group outside London Bridge, located inside St Christophers Inn (Pub):

Clapham War Gamers, located in Bread & Roses, the better of thw two pubs but it's further away for you.

I know there a few clubs to the east outside central london, big ones... but I cannot reach them without taking hours, if I can find the names of them (maybe something eastern warlords) I give them to you.
There's usually a Warlord club outside of london in each direction. I went to south-eastern for a while, but I had time difficulties there.

My weekly club (generally) is at Games Workshop's Oxford Street since I prefer random games rather than booking, it's obviously flawed being a Games Workshop, but its passable compared to others.
I be happy to know any new clubs that you find, but I'm out of stock.

I don't have the time or money, and I don't have the skills to look after a place.
I tried to help setup a group in Greenwich, but when things were looking great (had everything we needed) the guy in charge just lost contact, and it was scrapped. That was a big waste of time...

Yeah, i remember that, was waiting to see if it came to anything as i was considring giving it a go as well

The one suggestion I can think of for someone to host a game night at a place/room flat (etc) they own and just meet regular somewhere in london.

I can't offer my place for personal reasons, but a small group might work for those who are still looking for folks.

there was a private Beckenham group I joined almost a year ago, but for some reason they refused to contact me again. I know they're still on this site, but I did everything to feel grateful and they blocked me off without a reason, so the less like them, the better.

That sucks.

Unfortunately i cant at mine, at least untill i've sorted out moving, then i might be able to pursuade my other half to let us but not sure when that will be!

So if there is anyone else in the Land of Dakka that has suggestions, will be interested to hear them.

someone else from west london here. Been thinking of going over to where the overlords play but itsa good 90mins each way which is a major turn off.
Am going to start playing as High Street Kensington's gw as they run 1000pt games all sunday. Which is great for me learning to play after 15 years in the hobby.
If two people want to play a game they can book tables there and from when i have been in as far as gw stores go its prity good.
My Mrs is more than happy for me to host games at our flat but its normal london hovle size so be one 6x4 board max in the living room and as yet i dont have a board or any terain atm but should have something workable in the future for folks i get on gameing with.

I just want to highly recommend the above club if you are in the London area - i went here last night and had a very enjoyable game of 40k (and they play several other games as well).

I'm in west london too, and would certainly be interested if anyone comes up with any ideas that don't involve having to travel out to east or south london.

There's a group which meets on Sundays called Tanelorn Wargames Club in Leytonstone, only a couple of minute's walk from the station. Went there on Sunday and they have quite a few people looking to revive their 40k scene. A lot of people are playing Warmachine, a couple are on Malifaux and even some historical gaming.

They're talking about running a "friendly" 40k campaign in the near future, and are keen to get new 40k players involved.

Not heard good things about Tanelorn tbh

I go to overlords on a sunday its quite near to barking station which is on the district line and a few others so is quite easy to get to, we have a few west london and city members. We only play 40k as well
