dreadnought - 2x TL autocannons, psyammo - 135

this is what my army seems to be pushing towards, I'm liking the look of it. for around 2k I can bring more termies (or paladins)... and I'm starting to build a few purifier squads too.... thoughts? kinda tempted to drop the vindicare for more henchman or maybe try to buy a 3rd dread....

Looks solid. I'd say for 1500, it would work well.

6th ed favors balanced GK lists like this.

I like the look of it. I'm thinking of running something similar but instead of 2 dreadnoughts I'd have 1 Dread and 1 DK.

So you have 3 Rhinos but not LRC or Storm Ravens? Is there a reason for it aside from points?

Yeah the DK got a lot better with 6th Ed, but I think the 2 dreads are just as good

I played with a similar list a few times and although I run a razorspam instead of paladins, I have an idea what this does on the table.

After a tournament and a few more games of playtesting, I decided to change my army a bit, and I would modify yours a bit too.

You simply don't need a vindicare, even if there is a land raider or other AV13-14, a dreadknight can handle it just as well. The vindicares don't make up their points and aren't movable, they usually have a limited field of fire and with only one shot per round they are hard-pressed to be useful. Id recommend dropping him and then upgrading one of your dreadnoughts to a dreadknight with incinerator, jumper, and greatsword. The sword is totally worth it if you have the points; 25 points gives you on average another hit with your attacks and all but guarantees you will always wound. Against vehicles, the dreadknight will pen them a few times with each charge. He will destroy a landraider in one go if he has a sword. Use him to combat the heavy vehicles which your dreadnought and psycannons cant get through.

Wheres coteaz going? Giving him divination then sticking him with the paladins?

The strike squads will work out fine, combat squadding as need be. I guess you have enough assault prowess with the paladins and DCAs, but if it were me I'd upgrade one strike squad to purifiers with halberds. You'd still have 4 scoring units, but it's up to you.

Oh, you will get abused by necron flyers and flyers in general, so just be warned. Stormravens with plasma cannons can hurt pretty badly too. You need some anti flyer in my opinion. If you can't bring an ADL, just try to hug cover with as many of your units as possible and get them into close combat asap to prevent those flyers from bombarding you further.

So it looks good, main suggestion from my experience would be to drop the vindi and a dreadnought for dreadknight.

Good luck!

well this may be for a league (if I can get the time) and there are no flyer spam lists

and I was actually gunna throw coteaz with the henchman for hammerhand and sanctuary need-be, but now that you say it, divination would work nicely in the paladins

and I'll work something else tonight

EDIT: something like this? sadly no termies or henchmen, but hey looks good to me! (and I need teleporters on my DK.... just 12" and that 30" is ridiculous for me )

xenos inquisitor - psyker(divination), bolt pistol, force(stave?) *plasma siphon* - 63 (73)

purifiers - 5 man, KoF(halberd), 1x hammer, 1x halberd, 2x psycannons, rhino(SL) - 190

purifiers - 5 man, KoF(halberd), 1x hammer, 1x halberd, 2x psycannons, rhino(SL) - 190

strike - 10 man, justi(*MC* hammer), 2x psycannon, 7x swords, rhino(SL) - 271 *276*

strike - 10 man, justi(*MC* hammer), 2x psycannon, 7x swords, rhino(SL) - 271 *276*

dreadnought - 2x TL autocannons, psyammo - 135

dreadnought - 2x TL autocannons, psyammo - 135

dreadknight - personal teleporter, heavy incinerator - 235

I had 10 extra points, and I couldnt decide between plasma siphon or MC strike hammers.... (maybe MC purifier halberds?)

Hmm you probably wont be charging many monstrous creatures with the strike squads anyway, so idk about thier hammers, and if you get prescience from divination the purifiers (or at least one of the squads) will already have re-roll to hit. I don't like MC weapons in general, but the list looks good. If it were me, I'd drop MC hammer on one of the squads and change the plasma siphon to rad grenades (I think you can afford it then) which will make your purifiers hurt in CC.

Or you could do a 9 man squad of purifiers and either grab coteaz or pimp the inquisitor with more grenades with the points you save from dropping 2 psycannons and a rhino.

Or even, by combining the two squads, take the 70+ points you save and grab a razorback with psybolt ammo and 5 acolytes inside for a fifth scoring unit and more dakka. You'd also probably drop a purifier so you can use those points for more grenades on the inquisitor.

All up to you, anything can work, depends on your play-style and the types f opponents you have, Your call.

oh no, I meant the strike squad MC was optional, like it or the siphon

and the hammer is more of a defence and vehicle fighter thing

the only thing I dont like is missing out on terminators.... I just got 20 :(

lol
