Posting this from work. I just put the models together last night. I will begin the painting tonight and I will post WIP pics. But just in case anyone is curious about what scheme I will use (all colors are P3 unless otherwise noted):

Basecoat armor a mixture 2:1 of Skorne Red to Murderous Magenta. This produces a true crimson color - not the vermillion garbage in the stock studio scheme. I do this with an airbtrush (I use the Badger Patriot 105).

Basecoat armor trim Molten Bronze.

Basecoat boney parts Menoth White Base.

Metal parts on guns, swords, claws, etc, Pig Iron.

Eyes Iosan Green.

Any exposed skin astartes skin Traitor Green. For tentacle parts or other warp-y mutations, I will go between basecoating with Traitor Green (if no skin exposed of astartes) & Sanguine Highlight.

Cape on Chaos Lord will be Coal Black.

Next step is to dip in The Army Painter Dark Tone Quickshade. I really like high contrast comic book style, and this gives really hard definitive lines. Let it sit for a day.

Reclaim places that were overshaded with our original basecoat colors.

Fine edge highlight armor pieces with our Murderuos Skorne mix mixed with Khador Red Base 1:1. Fine edges will be pure Khador Red Base - no orange will touch my red models! If you are not satisfied with this contrast, try mixing Murderuos Skorne:Khador Red Base:Midlund Flesh 1:1:1: (you ever stare at a red car and notice that it's pinkish in the highlights, not orange? Yeah. That's why Midlund Flesh).

Highlight cape with Coal Black mixed with Trollblood Base 1:1.

Highlight bone parts with Menoth White Base:Menoth White Highlight 1:1. Can further highlight with pure Menoth White Highlight.

Highlight bronze with Radiant Platinum.

Highlight other metal areas with Quick Silver.

Highlight eyes with Wurm Green, a small speck of Necrotite Green, and a tiny dot of Marrow White towards the back of the lens.

This Is Where the Fish Lives

Sounds like a fine plan... the only thing I would change is the dipping part. If you want the comic-book style lines, use an oil wash. Much easier in my opinion.

Also, I know you say you'll get around to it, so until then:

And some, I assume, are good people."
