I know Grey Knight armies are supposedly the bane of Daemons...I mean, it's what they're meant to kill. But I've actually found solid Necron lists to be much harder to beat.

When I'm taking a more casual list, I just get blown off the table. With a more competitive list (several units of screamers, several units of flamers, and a couple FMCs), there are more specific problems. The three things I'm struggling with are:

1. Wraiths.

They put out enough attacks to kill most units in 2 rounds, which is perfect for the Necron player. They can survive nearly anything - even the super deadly screamers, flamers, and monstrous creatures can't kill them effectively. They're as fast as any of my units, so I can't avoid them. I typically go up against two units of 5-6 wraiths.

2. Mindshackle Scarabs

This one is a little less of a problem, but it's still an issue. My 200+ point Daemon Princes can never land to attack a unit. If it's important, it will have a MSS Lord or Overlord attached, or one will be nearby for a counter-charge.

3. Flyers

This one is kind of obvious. Daemons severely lack an answer to flyers, especially AV 11 flyers. I typically have 2-3 flying monstrous creatures, most of them glance on a 6 with vector strike. Other than that, I can hope to get lucky with a Bolt of Tzeentch.
I'm not really worried about losing to flyer spam (Necron Air Force) - that's an insanely difficult game for most armies. I just don't want to get an auto-loss because I can't deal with a couple Night Scythes and Doom Scythes.

So...what are other Daemon players doing against these Necron units? Is anyone else struggling with the same things?

The things you listed are the things that are really broken about Necrons atm. Wraiths are imo the best CC unit out there, with good movement (jump inf), whips (makes your models strike at I 1), a large amount of attacks with rending and 3+inv save on a multiwound model. If he rolls avg or better he could really rape you with some units of wraiths, whatever team you are playing.

Necron flyerspam is often refered to as bad manners to field anywhere else than in top tourneys and the MSS are simpy the best wargear item in the game, for 15 points...

I think your chance is to spam flamers and flying daemon princes. FMC are really good atm so use those daemon princes well for vector strikes etc etc. The sad part about playing daemons against necrons is that you almost always has to go for the extreme offensive and that's when you instantly find yourself inside their comfort zone when it comes to their shooting and that hurts.

Flamer everything else. Focus BoT fire on the flyers, something will get through. Or invest in a ADL w/ Icarus Lascannon.

Experience is something you get just after you need it
