In this battle report space marines take on my eldar in a battle for the relic. It was quite strange fighting an army more maneuverable than my own as he took a bike force. But it was still interesting.

Let me know what you guys think of it.

'Twas an interesting game; what were the warlord traits of each warlord? And how did you feel about playing a game with two 'fast' lists?

Seeing a squad of veterens swoop in in a Vendetta, secure the area, deliver that math assignment, and extract within 2 minutes would be freaking sweet.

I can't remember exactly what they where, but they didn't affect the game at all unfortunately.
And the fast list worried me a lot, normally i can use my guardians to direct where the enemy will attack so then can dictate what happens with the wave serpents. I should get over that and work on how to fight another fast army... got any tips?

Another great report! I look forward to the next
I still believe you rely too heavily upon the Fire Dragons. You need more hard hitting and generally more threatening units in the list. Yes, leaving one squad in reserve really hurt you in this game but even so they would have been targeted and destroyed just as quickly, but earlier, if they were on the board from the start.
As for 8 Fire Dragons per squad being too many? Theoretically, yes. Realistically... How many Bike squads did they kill? You can't always be sure you'll hit, let alone wound, glance or penetrate, and although they do fire Meltaguns, 8 shots is not many when you think about it. It depends on the points and the unit limitations if it would be worth dropping one or two to use the points elsewhere though.
As for just dealing with the Biker army and fast armies in general you could try using Eldar Jetbike units. Jetbikes are ridiculous now
Also you should try some DEldar allies. They not only have a new shiny codex but they can fill in gaps where the Eldar codex is weaker quite effectively from what i understand.
Peace Out!
Jonny!

Hm, I feel like you may have made a mistake in your targeting, with small squads of elite units at least, I find that throwing the whole firepower of my army at a single unit or two. Tends to do a much better job at eliminating a threat a turn, plus change to the next unit, as opposed to doing some damage to multiple units, and having them still be combat effective.
That being said, I play Necrons. I like your paint job, and best of luck good sir!
Hooray for post 666 lol.
