I am building a Land Raider multi ( It can any of the three types when done )
I want to put some Terminators in it.
I plan on using it to spearhead my attacks.
What type of Terminators and what load out do you suggest?
How should I outfit the Land Raider?
I fight mostly Chaos Marines and Necrons.

If those chaos marines are bringing Daemon Princes then you will want Thunder Hammer / Storm Shield Terminators for the 3++ save and reliable wounds. LC terminators may have more success against other marines and necrons because of the extra attack and striking at initiative 4. I don't like running tactical terminators in Land Raiders as you lose their shooting attacks until they disembark. Most common strategy for assault terminators is to give them TH/SS and send them straight at the scariest enemy unit. Not very subtle, but can be effective.

I also use the Land Raider Redeemer in 6th as the hurricane bolters are not as important now that they are not defensive weapons. Plus you get to save some points. Extra Armor is essential to keep your Land Raider moving and able to get your terminators where they need to go. I also like throwing a Multi-Melta on as a cheap anti-tank option.

I am thinking about doing something similar. I am going to run lugft huron, with 5 terminators, 3 with th/ss, and 2 with lc. I'm going to throw them in a land raider phobos, to use the twin-linked lascannons as anti-armor, and throw a multi melta on top also. That is what I am going to do. I would say that or run a landraider redeemer with multi melta.

You should take 1-2 THSS and put them in the front, with the changes to wound allocation. I would recommend taking some LC for extra attacks and rerolls to hit

with flamer template wont matter that much only when charging, I guess I could deepstrike them but then run the risk of scattering too far out of range, if he doesnt deepstrike the flamers near my LR which i doubt he would do then they wont be able to charge them out of it either hence my reasons for taking all TH SS, he only runs one squad of 10 but with their 12 inch move and ignoring saves he really did a number on me today!

Here's what I was thinking

I run regular marines (a shout out to http://www.flashgitz.net/ toooooo funny)

I was going to build the Land Raider so that it could be either a regular one or a Redemer.
It would also have extra armor and a multi melta turret.
Inside was going to be a Chaplian and 5 assalt terminators 3 TH SS 2 LC.
The chaplian would be in back of the Terminators to give them rerolls on hits
I don't know if I'm going to make the Chaplian a terminator due to his 3+ armor save and 4+ invulnerable save already.
For 30pts all you gain is an extra 1+ on the saving throw

Its the best combo I can think of

You upgrade your Boltpistol to a Stormbolter too. As you do not want to run with the termies anyway as they drive in the Land Raider you could see it like this for 30 points you get the way more durable 2+ (especially in cc now) and an additional bolter-shot before charging. Seems lame? Don't forget you can upgrade the stormbolter to a relentless combi-weapon, which can balance out the weaknesses of your termies.

Playing mostly Necromunda and Battletech, Malifaux is awesome too!

If you are going with a PA chaplain on foot, consider Cassius. He's a bargin for what you pay. And don't forget that a 2+ save is just a look out sir away.

It's worth not relying on the Look out sir roll. I would just spend the 30 points :(

For 125 points you get cassius. T6 FNP, master crafted combi flamer with hellfire rounds. Keeps his bolt pistol and grenades.

130 gets you chaplain genericus, in TDA with a stormbolter. One less CC attack (no pistol) no grenades. Vulnerable to ID with his 4T. But has a 2+ save.

For consistancy sake, I field a TDA chaplain. Mostly because I like the model. But Cassius is a killing machine. If I was starting over again, I would buy him and field him with my terminators. But at this point, I can't justify buying a 4th chaplain mini.

ICs get LOS on a 2+. If you can't rely on that...

If you really want to get even more out of your terminators drop on of the lib and pick up a chaplain in term armor and stick him with your assault termies

What ever squad the chaplain is attached to gets to re-roll misses, you you can re-roll TH misses + if you have lightning claws you get to re-roll misses AND re-roll to wound

To many unpainted models to count.

I like chappy in TDA with combiplasma

Dumps 2 plasma rounds into opponent then charges in with the rerolling terminator weapons

I dont like named characters and especially dont feel right about a power armoured chappy leading terminators, even a cyborg marine in power armour. Rant aside cannot argue he is a beast.

A combo plasma isn't an assalt weapon. You can't shoot it then assalt. Besides there made to assalt out of a Land Raider then remount. Your not allowed to shoot until next turn.

Terminators are relentless, therefore they can assault after shooting rapid fire weapons.

Besides there made to assalt out of a Land Raider then remount. Your not allowed to shoot until next turn.

Err, what? There's no such restriction on shooting after disembarking.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.
