Iam selling a space wolf battle force box set, the one you get at the games work shop. the army is $80 also there are still five more mode's to make that go with the blood claws, there are still some bits with it so if you want the army you get the bits as well, the army is not painted. The Eldar one is a steal for sure. The first one... that's a bit of a hit or miss. If you were going to buy certain models, you might be able to get a good deal... I wouldn't buy the whole thing though. The Space Wolf thing.. good deal on the minis but he's asking ALOT for that Codex..waay too much imho.

I would skip on the orks, as it's a big purchase and if your not Shure that your going to do orks, well that's a lot of wasted money. The eldar deal is really worth it though

He is asking the way to much fore the orks, I just saw 23 boyz go for less then a dollar per model. eBay is a great thing fr buying used armies. I would go for the space wolves at that price man, however I would just buy the army and get the codex for like $25 on eBay.

$1000 for an Ork army to start is a significant money sink, I'd buy a different used army for maybe $300 and if you love playing Orks, then you could add on to that. And new the SW Codex is less than $40 US, and I think it's the same in CAN $. Regarding the Orks, it's a lot of models, and parts of it are cool, but there are are probably units you will play once and not use again. Plus, if you're starting out, that many points is kinda hard to manage. I don't know Eldar enough to comment

Edit: I just went over the list again, and I think he's asking a bit much for the orks. There are some cool things that would do well in the new edition, IE the bikes the Mega Armor Nobz, but for maybe half that you could get an equivalent or near equivalent army on eBay. Just search Ork army or just Ork, highest price first and watch some armies sell. There will always be people trying to sell things at exorbitant prices, and sometimes prices are artificially high. He is probably just looking for a certain percent back on what he spent (or what new retail is) for his army. Look for armies with lots of bids on them. This will show that people are actually interested (well, probably) and that the army is more likely to be a good or decent deal. One of the benefits of the previous edition starter box (Assault on Black Reach or just AOBR) is there are a plethora of Ork Boyz, Nobz, Warbosses and Deffkoptas on the market at bargain prices. When shopping, be sure to not pay a premium for the Warboss, Nobz, Boyz, or Deffkoptas that were specific to the AOBR box set. They can be had super cheap. An honest seller will mark if something came from AOBR, although sometimes the seller doesn't know any different, but its something to be aware of if you are shopping for Orks.

Another thing I should mention about buying an army is painting. Do you want to paint? Would you prefer an army that is already painted and ready to go? A well painted army can command a somewhat premium price, whereas a poorly or just sub par painted army should be at a discount, because those models will have to be stripped and repainted, which is more time spent working and less time playing. Personally, having bought several used models and an army, for a decently to well painted army I would consider paying retail or close to retail value for the models, maybe a little more for something very well done or with heavy conversions. If it is sloppily painted or poorly assembled, I would look for a significant discount, like half or less of retail. If the models are bare or just primed (well primed) then I would look for a discount and compare prices to eBay. Remember, you can get a lot of GW stuff for less than retail on the forums here, Bartertown, eBay or through various online/local stores.

Sorry for the long and winding prose, I just love this hobby and have learned some things the hard way. If you find a specific Ork army, I'd be glad to help. I don't know Eldar very well, nor do I play SW so I haven't kept up with their pricing/value.

The Orks are a rip off, you can buy all current stuff new for like $500.

Eldar is alright.... depending on the condition.

I love sales pitches like this. The fact that it's been coil bound means it is definitely not in mint condition.
