I want to make an infantry Necron list, no flyers allowed.

I want the list to be as durable apossible. This could mean Ghost arks and Res Orb toting Lords.

One way I was heading was to go with 3 Ghost arks with 8 Warriors each comnined with 2 Overlords and one lord all with Weave, Phase Shifter, Warscythes, MSS and Res Orbs with Annihilation barges (obviously the lord only has what he has access to).

ANother option was to go all infantry - 3 20 man blobs with res lords 2 Veiltecs with 2 10 man Immortal squads

What do you think is the most resilient way to put together a 2000 point list of Necrons

A man's character is his fate.

In my last tournament, I tried taking out a Storm Raven with 15 Warriors, a Ghost Ark and it's 10 warrior occupants... I stripped 2 hull points, but it got away after that first round of shooting. I tried similarly to take out Vendetta's with warrior shooting and it isn't enough.

My mistake was assuming that destroying them is the best way to go... instead, you need to control the center of the board against fliers (at least according to better players than I).

I do like the idea of 2-3 Ghost Arks and maybe a monolith clogging up the center of the board. Combine that with a few units with a Veil of Darkness, and I think you are set.

This is pretty Interesting, and has an old school 3rd edition appeal to it:

HQ
Overlord 120
w/Staff of Light
w/Res Orb

DLord 190
w/Warscythe
w/Sempermental Weave
w/Mindshackle Scarabs
w/Res Orb

Royal Court 195
Lord w/SoL & Res Orb X 3

Elite
20 Flayed Ones 260

Troops
20 Warriors 260
20 Warriors 260
20 Warriors 260
20 Warriors 260

Total 1805

That gives you 100 T4 4+/RP4+ wounds (plus the 9 T5/6 3+/2+ wounds from your HQ slot) for your opponent to deal with, presenting them with a nice unidimensional resiliency profile (a good thing, as you'll over load there ability to deal with it).

It might look lacking against vehicles at first, but the Warriors will strip between 8 and 16 HP/turn depending on range, and the Flayed Ones+DLord will finish off anything the Gauss leaves behind pretty quickly (many people don't realize how deadly Flayed Ones are against most vehicles yet, and the DLord can handle anything they can't).

The Flayed Ones+DLord will also serve as a nice big buffer to keep your squishy Warriors out of CC, and allow you to push the envelope a bit more aggressively.

For the remaining points I'm a bit torn between a heavy Gauss Stalker, to be used very conservatively and bring the pain against primary targets, or a Ghost Arc, for obvious reasons. Another thing to consider is working in a Solar Pulse somewhere, maybe hidden in the Ghost Arc if that is the the direction you go.

Another option that drops one warrior blob but is a bit better supported:

HQ
Overlord 180
w/War Scythe
w/Res Orb
w/Phaeron
w/Semp Weave
w/MSS

DLord 190
w/Warscythe
w/Sempermental Weave
w/Mindshackle Scarabs
w/Res Orb

Royal Court 245
Lord w/SoL & Res Orb X 2
Lord w/WS/MSS
Pulsetek

Elite
20 Flayed Ones 260
Stalker w/HGC 165
Troops
20 Warriors 260
20 Warriors 260
20 Warriors 260
5 Warriors+Ghost Arc 180

Not as many bodies as the first, but a bit better supported. I would, again, keep both AV 13 hulls as far back as possible here, as they will get focus fired quite quickly by anti tank if you allow it. So keep them on the flanks and behind your Warriors if possible.

The Phaeron with the CC Lord gives you a nice, aggressive, troops selection as well. Not exactly a world stopper in CC, but strong enough to handle anything that slips past the DLord/Flayed One blob.

Anyway, just my 2 cents. I also know Zandrek/heavy Immortal lists did quite well at Nova, so that is something else to consider.

The Phaeron rule is pretty unnecessary (unless you plan to charge with the warriors) as they can still move and shoot with the new ed. rules.

Well that's the idea, hence:

The Phaeron with the CC Lord gives you a nice, aggressive, troops selection as well.

Here's a foot list that has served me fairly well-

HQ

Nemesor Zahndrekh- (185)
Vargard Obyron-(160)
Court-
Lord- warscythe, scarabs, weave (75)
Cryptek, destruction, gaze of flame, solar pulse (65)
Cryptek, Transmogrification, Seismic Crucible, Harp of Dissonance (70)

Overlord - warscythe, scarabs, weave, Res. Orb, shifter (205)
Court-
Lord - warscythe, scarabs, weave (75)
Cryptek, destruction, gaze of flame, solar pulse (65)
Cryptek, Transmogrification, Seismic Crucible, Harp of Dissonance (70)
(905)

Troops

Warriors x 10, (130) (Joined by Transmogrification)
Warriors x 10, (130) (Joined by Transmogrification)
Immortals x 10, (gauss)(170) (Joined by Zahndrekh, Vargard, Lord, and Destruction)
Immortals x 10, (tesla)(170) (Joined by Overlord, Lord, and Destruction)
(600)

Fast Attack

Scarabs x 5 (75)

Heavy Support

Annihilation Barge x2 (180)
Doomsday Ark (175)
(355)
(2000)

Those immortal squads tend to live up to their names, as they can take most anything by themselves. The Scarabs are there because of extra points, and they might take out someones big, expensive vehicle if you get lucky. The warriors hold objectives, the harps are great for picking armor off a distant land raider, especially because 2 shots (a.k.a one round of shooting with a infinite range weapon) can reduce the almighty land-raider to being able to b e penetrated by your tesla destructors. The doomsday cannon is just sexy pieplates, enjoy those. Cycle solar pulses to make sure it gets in at least 2 rounds of shooting. On occasion, your opponent may forget you actually have other units in your army and they may become focused on killing it, which is also nice

Last but not least, don't forget zahndrekh and obyron. Obyron can teleport that squad of immortals into rapid fire range, and after that, if someone dares to charge you, obyron is a monster in CC, and the lord has scarabs to make their big, expensive hq punch himself in the face. Zahndrekh himself has his tactics, so you can take buffs away from people and give yourself some. What I personally find funny as hell is giving a squad of immortals counter-attack, so that if someone charges you, the destroteks have defensive grenades, so you deny them their extra charge attack and you give it to yourself insdead The tesla squad is almost as good, not as many warscythe attacks, but does have extra scarabs for additional "stop hitting yourself" funtimes.

5 Warriors+Ghost Arc 180

I'd vote this list, i dropped the flayed ones, and picked up a flight of wraiths, they're faster, and more resilient, and can reliably deal with vehicles, termies, and other elite assault troops with power weapons, run them with your destroyer lord.

Bedouin Dynasty: 10000 pts
The Silver Lances: 4000 pts
The Custodes Winter Watch 4000 pts

Ha! I'm looking into doing the same thing. I was at NOVA a couple of weekends ago and came to the realization that vehicles are bad in NOVA missions unless they have a supportive role and don't make up too much of your armies points (stupid table quarters killed me). So here's where I'm going:

HQ: Overlord - ms/orb/ws/pheron/weave
Court: 5 x Lord - ms/orb/ws/weave

TROOPS: 9 x Warriors - GA
TROOPS: 16 x Warriors
TROOPS: 15 x Warriors
TROOPS: 16 x Warriors
TROOPS: 9 x Warriors - GA
TROOPS: 10 x Immortals
FA: 6 x Scarabs
FA: 6 x Scarabs
HEAVY: Spyders - fabricator arm
HEAVY: Spyders - fabricator arm

Stick a lord in each troop unit and keep the four units walking out side of the arks near by so they can receive some love when they loose guys. Build up a small scarab farm while you're at it to quickly take out LR and other nasty tanks. The spyders can help keep the arks mobile with their fabricator arms. Probably not competitive but I'd love to march this one across the board
