right then this is only my second post so far but I am building an army of adeptus custodes and would like to know what i can feild them as? I think grey knights would be my best bet as they are also low in number and have close combat weapons?

any advice would be welcomed!

also who can I use for the emperor of mankind? Ive ordered the model? would I jsut customise a brother captain? (havnt bought the book yet excuse the noobishness)

I have a siege of terror force built like this

HQ
Coteaz (Counts as Emperor)

Draigo (Counts as Rodal Dorn)

Troops (Count as ordinary humans guarding the palace)
12 Acolytes, Carapace, Hotshot Lasguns (X units of these)

Fortification
Fortress of Redemption (Duh)

Allies
HQ
Space Marine Chapter Master (Counts as Adeptus Custodes Sergeant)
Relic Blade

5 Honour Guard (Count as Adeptus Custodes)
Relic Blades/Aux Grenade launchers

Troops
10 Tac Marines (Count as Imperial Fist Legion)
Missile Launcher, Flamer

The Adeptus Custodes are modeled out of special character space marines and Grey Knight bits, the Relic Blade + Aux Grenade launcher seem a good match for guardian spears.

The emperor is coteaz because he is described as being essentially a normal human (albeit massively psychic) in power armour rather than a marine style with extra organs, size etc. I have made him from about 6 different models.

To represent Rogal Dorn, I am using a Tru-Scale marine on a 40mm base.

Thanks for the advice, Im going to my local GW soon to find out more about what they will allow as a force and so on so I can play in there!

I have ordered the first count as model for the emperor which I shall post pics of once I get him done!

To be honest if you are fielding the emperor on the chair I would use him as Karamazov. Not sure the GK's fall all that closely to the custodies but cheers for making the game yours.
