So after a lengthy hiatus I really want to get back into Battlefleet Gothic - it's still one of my favourite GW games. I've ordered a few of the Forge World Tau ships, basically because I love the models (and because the Specialist Games Tau fleet are an intergalactic trainwreck), but can't find rules for the newer ships anywhere. I'm sure they used to be available - does anyone know where I can find them?

Cheers!

http://www.forum.specialist-arms.com/index.php?topic=3930.0 The 2010 faq includes the rules for newer ships.

I don't make the rules, I just think them up and write them down.

Original Forgeworld Trial rules can still be found in some places, but they are somewhat boring. None of the ships have any options. 2010 FAQ rules have some options, and most signifantly 90 degree turns for the cruisers: this is a big buff and makes them quite easy to play.

Mr Vetock, give back my Multi-tracker!

The rules look pretty good. Also nice to see they made a few changes to the main game in the FAQ - the idea of ordnance running out really bothered me. Although I will miss massed torpedo waves.

Yeah, Tau rules in FAQ/Compendium 2010 are better.

You've been out of the loop!! The ordnance running out on a double change dates back from, the first FAQ in 2000 or 2001! Has always been in the FAQ since then.

You can still mass torpedoes, what makes you think you can't?

I'm sure I saw something in there saying that torpedo waves all use the same size of marker, but you use dice or something to keep track of the strength of the wave.

Ya torps got nerfed to no wider than the 3 torp marker and use dice to note how many torps are in the salvo.

Correct,
but you can stil mass them (adding two waves together if you want).
