Hey so this is my first ever battle list I've drew up, but only having played a handful of games I still have not got a firm grasp of all the rules. This means all and any advise and criticism of the list is more than welcome! Especially if I've messed up on any rules.
The Space Marine detachment of the list is fairly static in terms of models, as they are from the assault on black reach set and the models I actually own, but as I've yet to buy more than a singular Infantry squad for my Guard, that part of the list is fairly malleable (although I have a hefty bias towards infantry models over tanks when it come to collecting).
Anyway on with the list!

My main issues is the Valk, if I should even include it, or deploy Harker in it opposed to infiltrating him. also the rattlings where filling points and because I dig space hobbit snipers a bit more than I should, but not sure how effective they would be.

OK ... my advice.

A) loose the vox's. The vets cant get orders if they are in the vendetas and when they disembark,they will probably be too far away.

B) Grenade launchers suck.Give 4 plasmaguns or meltaguns to your CCS.

C) 3 advisors and bodyguards??? Naah , not necesary.
Keep CCS as cheap as you can.Maybe keep the -1 to enemy reserves officer.The MoO is too inaccurate to even bother.
He scaters 3d6 or 2d6 even on a hit.

D) I like ratlings too BUT .... they have Ld5 so when you take your 1st panic test they will probably run away.The enemy doesnt even have to kill them all , just force a panic test on them.

E) You dont need to upgrade Harker's squad to forward sentries.
He gives them infiltrate and stealth himself.
Equip them with 3 plasmas and you'r ok.

F) You dont have a unit in your army to guard your obj.
You have units to take your opponent's obj's but none for the one in your side.Squeez a min. 20 man infantry blob in there with 2 HW autocannons and you are set.

Start and really try to keep to about 1500 points. 2000 points is a bit high to learn the game.

I would go for solely vendettas as they are better.
Then only put cheap scoring units on them, as they are not that likely to survive truth be told.

You have over loaded the IG with upgrades. Then you have an issue with getting into play, foot slogging weak but quite pricey infantry is always asking for trouble.
The marines part is a bit weak and doesn't add much.

I would seriously think about platoons as you want cheaper guys when flying or footslogging them, due to their life expectancy.
If you are set on those marines, maybe use a command squad in the drop pod instead.
