Has anyone noticed all the finecast put up on GW website for preorder? I am not sure how long it has been there but havent seen anyone talking about it. I know there were rumors of plastic wraithguard. I am guessing the 5 wraithguard finecast pack they are advertising is it? Thoughts?

Yes I noticed that but was curious if this would be the "plastic" wraithguard refered to as coming out in the rumors all over. The Wraithguard are still expensive but I suppose a bit cheaper than before....

Its about the same price as before. I don't know about anyone else but I am extremely happy with the update and will be putting in an order this weekend. I can only hope that they Finecast the remaining metal Warlocks soon so I can buy those as well! I hate working with/having metal models.

The Finecast Wraithguard are actually cheaper than they are in metal. Simple math:
$15 x 5 = $75.
The Finecast box is $59.

People are saying hold out for plastic, but Eldar release isn't due for like half a year.. So I'll be play testing 10, then prob buying a pack of em

yea i doubt they will see a plastic kit unless gw does the rumor of the 2 starter sets and we get them in one... very doubtful.
but yes they are cheaper than the old metal ones which is nice btu $59 for 5 is still pricey.. beats 75 bucks though /shrug

Yes I thought it was a bit cheaper. I guess I have a hard time believing they would put out a plastic kit next year when just releasing them in a box of five with fine cast. I am thinking this is it. Although I'm no authority lol

Thats still pretty expensive though, and the models themselves are ancient now and could do with an update, i know plenty of people that would use them if they were a more reasonable price.

They did so with the Hive Tyrant iirc.

Yep, the Hive Tyrant was released in Finecast in wave 1. About 6 months later (or was it 8?) it got a plastic kit in a second Tyranid wave.
Releasing Wraithguard in Finecast is just a way to sell more right now, since they still use the same masters. The fact that they got cheaper is nice. If only it applied to the rest of Finecast.

If they get a plastic kit it will most likely be a year from now. The Tyranid Hive Tyrant was finecast for about 6 months or more before it went to plastic.

Longer, since they'll only come with an Eldar codex, and it was mentioned that work on the Eldar codex wasn't even started.
But something going finecast isn't any indication of them not getting a plastic kit, as the Hive Tyrant showed. It just means they still want to sell the model in the interim. The Hive Tyrant spent 6-8 months in finecastland, which means they knew the plastic Tyrant was nearing release status when they did it. A plastic kit takes a long time to design, develop, tool and release.
