So, having played about a score of 6th ed games so far, and having paid close attention to NOVA and some of the top-performing armies there, I've been thinking a lot about army concepts for the upcoming Battle for Salvation GT.

Given the awesome mileage Tony Kopach got out of a big IG blob squad enhanced with unit-buffing psychic powers, I'm giving serious consideration to allies to counter psyhic shenanigans. Here are some of my ideas. Let me know what you think!

List 1, BA + Eldar:
Reclusiarch () with included Rosarius & Crozius Arcanum = 130
Sanguinary Priest (), Power Sword (), Jump Pack () = 90
10 Tactical Terminators () w/ 1x Assault Cannon (), 1x Heavy Flamer () = 425
7 Death Company () w/ 1x Thunder Hammer (), 1x Power Fist () = 195
10 Tactical Marines () w/ Plasmagun (), Missile Launcher () = 180
10 Assault Marines () w/ 2x Meltagun (), Power Fist () = 235
10 Assault Marines () w/ 2x Meltagun (), Power Sword (), Meltabombs () = 230
Stormraven () w/Extra Armor (), Locator Beacon (), T-L Multimelta (), T-L Assault Cannon () = 230

Farseer (), Doom (), Runes of Witnessing (), Runes of Warding () = 100
10 Eldar Guardian Defenders (), Scatter Laser platform (), Warlock, with Embolden () = 125
5 Dire Avengers () = 60

In this list the terminators can either walk or deep strike in depending on the situation/opponent, and can split if that's the best option.

----------------------------------------

List 2:
Reclusiarch () with included Rosarius & Crozius Arcanum = 130
Sanguinary Priest (), Lightning Claw () = 65
5 Assault Terminators () w/ 4x TH & SS () = 220
Furioso with Blood Talons = 125
10 Death Company () w/ 1x Thunder Hammer (), 1x Power Fist () = 255
10 Tactical Marines () w/ Plasmagun (), Missile Launcher () = 180
10 Tactical Marines () w/ Plasmagun (), Missile Launcher () = 180
10 Tactical Marines () w/ Plasmagun (), Missile Launcher () = 180
Stormraven () w/extra armor, locator beacon, T-L Multimelta (), T-L Assault Cannon () = 230
Stormraven () w/extra armor, T-L Multimelta (), T-L Assault Cannon () = 215

Farseer (), Doom (), Runes of Witnessing (), Runes of Warding () = 100
10 Eldar Guardian Defenders (), Scatter Laser platform (), Warlock with Embolden () = 125

-------------------------------

List 3, BA + Space wolves:

Reclusiarch () with included Rosarius & Crozius Arcanum = 130
Sanguinary Priest (), Power Sword (), Jump Pack () = 90
10 Tactical Terminators () w/ 2x Cyclone Missile Launcher () = 460
7 Death Company () w/ 1x Thunder Hammer (), 1x Power Fist () = 195
10 Tactical Marines () w/ Plasmagun (), Missile Launcher () = 180
10 Assault Marines () w/ 2x Meltagun (), Power Fist () = 235
10 Assault Marines () w/ 2x Meltagun (), Power Sword (), Meltabombs () = 230
Stormraven (200) w/Twin-Linked Multimelta (), T-L Assault Cannon () = 200

Rune Priest (), Jaws of the World Wolf, Murderous Hurricane = 100
10 Grey Hunters (), 2x Meltagun (), Power Axe (), Wolf Standard () = 180

Why the Reclusiarch? Favorite fig or something? I honestly think a libby is better here. Refreshing to see him though. Honestly I think TK run at Nova was do to the missions and extremely lucky rolling on the biomancy chart. Also he was miss playing counter attack lol. I know it mattered in his first game at least. I don't think I would worry too much about that list, unless table quarters are being used at BfS? If so that's unfortunate because I think TQ weighed in a bit too heavily at Nova and I honestly don't think it works well. Like the lists though, they seem fun and rather different from what the internet usually tells us to bring

The Reclusiarch makes the DC hit like a ton of bricks. He's also pretty good in challenges, and can't have his unit-enhancement cancelled out by Rune Priests or Farseers. Otherwise yeah, I love Librarians.

BFS uses NOVA-style scenarios, terrain, structure, and their FAQ; yeah, I believe quadrants will be in play.

I like List #2. What's your thought behind bringing Tac squads?

I'm assuming the DC are being dropped off by one of the SRs? If so, think about getting your Reclusiarch terminator armor. With 3 wounds and 2+ he can tank wounds for the DC.

I like tactical squads for a couple of reasons. They have more firepower now on the move than they used to; they can overwatch, and they're a cheaper way to get ten scoring SM bodies than assault marines. They can also make better use of a mysterious objective granting Skyfire too, to threaten flyers.

Yeah, DC go in a SR. The terminator armor idea for the Reclusiarch is a good one. Hrm.

I think the farseer is a bit hamfisted. Stick with a Rune Priest since he is a battle brother. I'd also consider running a BA libby as well.

I wouldn't run 1 Storm raven. It will too easily get killed by random Icarus Lascannons (I saw a ton of these at NOVA with silly Exarchs and Crypteks manning them) or it will die quickly to other Flyers. I would either bring 2 Ravens or none (I lean towards none. Despite it being better than before, it is still an overpriced vehicle that gets punked by Vendettas).

I would build to ignore Fliers and take more Space Wolves allies (Grey Hunters are way better than BA Tacticals). Maybe add a squad of BA devs and a squad of Long Fangs so you have at least a little ranged firepower.

I think this would be good and fits what you seem to be favoring:

Reclusiarch 130
Priest (Power Weapon, Pack) - 90
10 Assault Terminators (7 TH/SS, 3 Claws) - 435
10 Assault Marines (2 Melta, Fist) - 235
10 Assault Marines (2 Flamer, Fist) - 225
7 Death Company (1 TH, 1 Fist) - 195
5 Devastators (4 Missiles) - 130

Rune Priest (Jaws, Lightning) - 100
10 Grey Hunters (2 Plasma, Standard) - 170
10 Grey Hunters (2 Melta, Standard) - 165
5 Long Fangs (4 Missiles) - 115

I think this works better. More boots on the ground helps. I also think Assault Terminators are far better than tactical ones. You should run into more Plasma than before. I would also highly recommend some sort of templates. Thats why I included the Devastators and some flamers. I'd also try to fit some flamers onto the Death Company.

Your biggest issue will probably be Daemons. The new Tzeentch Daemons absolutely shred elite infantry. Unfortunately BA lack the firepower to really do much about it either. This is one of the reasons I think you should take 20 Grey Hunters with you. They are almost as good in CC and have Bolters, which makes a difference over the course of the game.

Ohh and Brother Corbulo could be entertaining, use the 2+ FNP to basically have him tank for the DC.

He makes a good tank, but the DC already have Furious Charge and FNP. Reclusiarch is an interesting choice because of his 3 wounds.
