Shenanigans Ball 2012
The Shenanigans Ball event gives players the opportunity to battle against new players in a fun and enjoyable event over 24 hours of brutal gaming.
The event takes on the November 3rd & 4th 2012 at:
Tabletop Nation, Unit 17, Eldon Way, Hockley, Essex, SS5 4AD
Players entering this event must choose a single faction to represent throughout the whole 24 hour period. However, in between rounds players are free to change their army lists in any way, as long as it is still chosen from the same faction. Players are actively encouraged to bring a variety of models and to play with different Warcasters / Warlocks, but more on that later.
All games played will either be 35 or 50 points, and all games will be played using the 2012
PP Steamroller scenarios.
In addition all games will be played under time turns, and players are required to bring 3 40mm Flag markers and 2 50mm Objective markers for scenarios.

A note on fun: players should note that this event will not contribute to their Rankings score and is more about having fun and playing new players than winning at all costs. It is important to approach this event in the spirit it is intended, as 24 Hours of gaming will be tough enough! The rules of the event reward taking part above winning, so don’t take yourselves too seriously. There will be spot prizes and interesting effects throughout the 24 Hour period which are intended to keep spirits up and keep the focus on having fun!
Time Slots
The gaming time is broken into 11 ‘slots’ during the 24 hours. For the first slot players will be randomised tables and opponents. For the fourth and ninth slot players will be ranked on their Shenanigan point’s total. During all other rounds players are free to select their opponent and table.
At the beginning of each slot players will be told which scenario they are playing, what size game they are playing AND any other effects.
Each slot provides players with ample time to complete their game. Once a game is complete, both players need to bring the results sheet to the Organisers desk for entry. BUT once this is done players have the option to try and play a second game during the slot, either with the person they just played or with others who have finished. The results for this game also need to be brought to the Organisers desk for entry.
Remember, dice down will be called for the time slot at the time specified above, so don’t start a game you can’t finish. A player can only register their first TWO results per time slot.

Shenanigans Points
So why would you want to play more games? Why would you want to play with a variety of warlocks / warcasters? Because of Shenanigans points of course!
Each time a player plays a game they are rewarded a number of Shenanigans Points (
SP). These points are dependent on what you field in your army and how you perform.
Shenanigan Points Table
+1 For playing the game, a bonus point is awarded for each game that is recorded between midnight and Breakfast.
+1 For winning the game.
+1 For playing a player you haven’t played at this event so far.
+1 For played against a faction you haven’t played at this event so far.
+1 For playing with a Warlock / Warcaster you haven’t played with at this event so far.
+2 For killing one or more Colossals or Garguantuans during the game. (Killing a warlock/warcaster does not count for this bonus, the Garguantuan/Colossal must be wrecked or killed.)
+3 For playing with the Warlock / Warcaster drawn this round from the Hat of Pity (see below)
-3 For playing with the Warlock / Warcaster drawn this round from the Crutch of Shame (see below)
Players should be aware that it is possible to score negative points! There may be more bonus points available during certain rounds, so keep your ears peeled!
Wheels
So what is the ‘Crutch of Shame’ and the ‘Hat of Pity’ I hear you ask? What other interesting effects are there?
Simple! At the start of each time slot the Organisers will spin a large wheel for all players to see. This wheel is broken into 6 sections, and each section dictates what size game players are playing and the other effects in play for the whole time slot.
The sections are:
35 point – Crutch of Shame
35 point – Hat of Pity
35 point – Weather
50 point – Crutch of Shame
50 point – Hat of Pity
50 point - Weather
Crutch of Shame – We all know that some Warlocks / Warcasters are ‘less friendly’ than others. So if this section is spun then ONE random Warlock / Warcaster will be pulled from a hat. Any player fielding that Warcaster / Warlock during this slot suffers -3
SP - ouch!
Players should be aware that the name pulled counts for all versions of that character. For example if Victoria Haley is pulled, then both her EPIC and PRIME version will incur the penalty.
Hat of Pity – On the other hand we all know some Warlocks / Warcasters could do with a bit of a leg up. So if this section is spun then ONE random Warlock / Warcaster will be pulled from a hat. Any player fielding that Warcaster / Warlock during this slot gains +3
SP for being a hero!!
Players should be aware that the name pulled counts for all versions of that character. For example if Coleman Stryker is pulled, then both his EPIC and PRIME version will be rewarded.
A full list of Crutch of Shame and Hat of Pity Warlocks / Warcasters is included at the end of this pack.
Weather – As all nations in Immoren come from different climates then it’s only right that occasionally the climate comes with you. If this section is spun then there is a weather effect in play for the whole slot. To determine what the weather is a second wheel will be spun; the effects of the weather are detailed below:
Thick Fog - All models receive Concealment.
Blistering Heat - All models that complete a Run roll a
D6 at the end of the Run. On a roll of a 1 they suffer a POW 5 damage roll.
Heavy Storm - At the start of each turn roll a
D6 for each warbeast/warjack in that army. On a roll of a 1 that warbeast/warjack is disrupted/cannot be forced during that turn.
Muddy Rain - All models that charge must roll a
D6 after moving. On a roll of a 1 that model is knocked down.
Deep Freeze - All models suffers -1
STR.
High Winds - Reduce the Range of all Ranged attacks and spells by 2”.
Finished Already? Or just tired?
As stated earlier when players have finished their first game during each slot they are free to try and play a second game during that slot. To make it easier for players to identify their potential second game opponents a Waiting Area will be available for those players.
Players should be aware that if they are tired and want to not play one particular slot then that is perfectly fine. The area for waiting players will also double up as a rest area. Feel free to bring a sleeping bag if you think you’ll need it!!!
So if you’ve finished your game and are eager for more go to the Waiting Area and find a new opponent.
Meals
In the timetable we have two meal breaks for food, please let a member of the Organisers know if you have special dietary requirements.
Food and drink will also be available throughout the event via the venue.
Awards
What fun would a tournament be without prizes???
For this event we have a number of different awards available for people to win, these are:
Golden Thrall – 1st, 2nd, 3rd – Players do not have to bring fully painted armies, however players that do can enter the events Golden Thrall painting contest.
SP awards – 1st, 2nd, 3rd - The three players with the most Shenanigans Points. If this is tied it will be ranked on games played.
Strategic Master – The player scoring the most Control Points from Scenarios. If this is tied then it will be ranked on
SP.
Undecided Overlord – The player who fields the highest number of different warlocks/warcasters. If this is tied then it will be ranked on
SP.
Giant Killer – The player who kills the most Colossals/Garguantans (warlock/warcaster killed not included). If this is tied then it will be ranked on
SP.
Golden Slipper – The player who scores the least number of
SP. If this is tied then we’ll have a dice off, lowest wins obviously.
In addition to these final awards and prizes throughout the event the Organisers will announce ‘spot prizes’ for feats of courage, valour and stupidity, so keep your ears open.
