So I thought I would start this thread to see how many of you dakkanites are going to Gamesday, HERE IN MERRY OL ENGLAND!
Thought we could use this thread to discuss what people most want to see and do, also if there is any info on whats supposed to be coming up at the event itself.

Lastly I would also like to say, if you are up for a game on the day just let me know.

I'm taking a day out of working to head up to games day this year. First year attending so I hope its worth the travel. Contemplating entering golden demon for giggles.

^^ preview articles on the GW site.

Going with a few friends, luckily we have access to a car this means which saves me from the annual purgatorial like experience of travelling on the coach *shudders*.

The BL releases and, of course, the HH FW book is what I'm most interested in.

I'm reasonably certain we'll see some nice and shiny new chaos models this year too, which is nice, especially given the piss-poor 40k token efforts made at last years' event.

The poor man really has a stake in the country. The rich man hasn't; he can go away to New Guinea in a yacht. The poor have sometimes objected to being governed badly; the rich have always objected to being governed at all
We love our superheroes because they refuse to give up on us. We can analyze them out of existence, kill them, ban them, mock them, and still they return, patiently reminding us of who we are and what we wish we could be.

I had forgotten about the Horus Heresy book. While I can't really justify the books inevitably weighty price tag I'm hoping for some new FW space marines released alongside it for my army

I went in 2010 and it was a really boring day. I'll only go in future if I'm going to enter GD, but I'm a good 10 years off that yet!

Been twice in the past & found it really boring on both occaisions. Pretty sure I won't be going again.

I'll kick back and read about it on Dakka & Warseer.

I'm going, mainly for Golden Demon. 2010 was good as it had the Dark Eldar showing before release. Last year a bit dull, it has to be said.
Might treat myself to some Warhammer Forge goodies, but that's about it. I shall be taking a book to while away the hours! ; )

Well, there will be the Imperial Armory Horus Heresy book, and perhaps some miniatures to see this year.

I've been for the last 4 years and I can hardly contain my excitement about going again this year.

I think I enjoy it a lot more as for me and my friends it's a bit of a tradition/pilgrimage for us.

We all live in the very north of Scotland, (near John o' Groats), we all travel down together a few days early, usually the Thursday before GDUK and we visit Warhammer World in Nottingham and other such things of generic geekery, as well as having a few nights out on the town.

Then Sunday is the big day, and once again I am buzzing for this year, after all I want my FW Horus Heresy book and a glimpse at Angron if he's there..... I may have to steal him if he is

If any Dakkaites are up for it, me and my friends are happy to meet up with anybody or generally muck about. I don't know if I'm taking my models with me this year or not but if I am, I'll put up a post offering for games etc.

Also I may have a spare ticket if anybody needs one but can't get one etc.

Back in the UK and hating it

Last went in 92. I might go next year if I have to return to the UK, but mostly it's fighting through lots of sweaty people just to spend money on GW product - which you can do anytime at your local GW store!

I'm going. Punting down from Aberdeen. Entering my first Golden Demon, aiming to come away with the HH fw book, an limited/pre release stuff, the pariah novel and whatever else my wallet will stretch too.

No idea if will be able to pick folk out, but as there are 3 main forums I know with people attending, bound to meet someone in real life.

I'm going (alone, unless my brother in law can get permission from the wife), coaching from the Wakefield store. Kinda hoping there won't be the shouting between coaches on the motorway, and the American style cosplay was a bit odd too! I'd prefer to drive though this is cheaper and easier.

I'm going for the exclusives, books and miniatures. I'm a damn slave to limited edition stuff. Won't be buying any of the regularly available stuff.

A man after my own heart

I'm probably enough of a sucker for limited edition stuff that if they slapped a limited edition sticker on anything I'd try and buy it.

Sadly I can't go this year, and I also have to admit it can be a bit hit and miss depending on the release content that quarter.

I think this year people won't be disappointed though if they play 40K.

Please make sure you check out the Ammobunker table whilst you're there.

It's called "Assault on camp Talvernus" and is looking very cool!

Given the latest FW trailer the new Horus Heresy book is going straight on my to-get list for GDUK, its the first proper 40K event I've attended for... over 7 years now so I'm hoping it'll be good.

I'm going this year for the first time since 1996. Anybody who identifies me and comes to say hello gets some free dakka dice (I've got enough for 14 people, so first come first served).

You get bonus special dice if you can guess which one of his legs is the false one, best achieved via the medium of kicking.

He'll play along and claim it hurts, that he hasn't got a false leg etc etc and so on and so on but don't believe him !

I'm sure there'll be copies around on the day, but to help you plan your fastest route to the FW stand...

I'll be there, thinking about attending PieFest in Melton Mowbray tomorrow on the way there, then staying overnight nearby before heading to GD on the Sunday.

Haven't been since I was 12, which was 15 years ago looking forward to appreciating it all a bit more this time, and being less freaked out by grown ups in weird costumes

Will be queuing up at the FW area to get a copy of the Horus Heresy book, and maybe a few other FW bits. Otherwise will strongly resist spending my cash on anything that isn't GD exclusive, as it's much nicer to buy it at a discount from Rocket Hobbies etc. Looking forward to elbowing small children out of the way/over the balcony handrails so I can ogle the Golden Demon entries.

I would wave as I see you all, but I don't know what you look like, and I'm not actually dark green and shady in real life.
