Subject: Adepta Sororitas maintining their equipment and the Mechanicus

Soo I am writing some stuff for the Sisterhood and wondered if anyone had seen any references to the Sisterhood and maintenance of technologically advanced arms and equipment.
There seems to be two main options:
1. Accord of Silence with the Cult Mechanicus
There are attached Enginseers etc - however this does seem problematic given the nature of the Sisterhood and its fervent belief. Unless the relevant treaty with the Priests of Mars allows for those sent to service the Sisterhoods machinery has them adapted to refrain form inflicting their beliefs on the Sisters - whilst of course maintaining in silence their devotion to the Ominissiah? Or they make sure they send only those who accept that the Ominissiah and the Emperor are one.
2. Woman of Two Worlds
In a similar manner to the Astartes, the Sisterhood send individuals to the Cult of Mars to learn its secrets - whilst this sounds at first plausible I am not sure that the two beliefs that they must maintain are convergent enough - but I guess the Black Templars manage..........
Anyway - constructive thoughts and comments?

I think they learn how to maintain their own stuff to a small degree but otherwise have Tech priests for the most part.

These should help:
"Part of the puritan lifestyle of the Sisterhood is its isolation, and it is generally only the Canoness and her most experienced Sisters Superior who will have dealings with outsiders - even Sisters of another Order. The Sisters are utterly dedicated to one task or discipline and brook no distraction from their studies."
-- White Dwarf #211
"Besides the Space Marines of the Adeptus Astartes, only a select few Imperial organisations now have access to Rhinos; the priceless technology involved in their construction and maintenance is too valuable to be entrusted to any but the most loyal and steadfast bodies of warriors. The Adepta Sororitas and Adeptus Arbites have a number of Rhinos, and they maintain a body of those sanctified and pure of heart to care for them. Years of training go towards achieving this respected position. Aspirants must learn how to divine the runes of engineering, memorise the liturgy of maintenance and constantly study the routines of service. It is a position of great honour to care for these vehicles, and those that are carried into battle within one of these armoured transports are mindful of the spirits that inhabit the mechanical functions and blessed bolts that make up each one."
-- White Dwarf #269
In short, the answer would be 2 - at least as far as GW is concerned. The Ecclesiarchy generally tries to limit its dependency on the AdMech as much as possible, for obvious reasons. Ever since the Sororitas' very first mentioning in 1st edition 40k, it has always been said that the fortress-convents of the Orders Militant are organised much like the Astartes (the old adage "Brothers and Sisters" being true in more than just their names), so perhaps they have a Sisterhood version of the Techmarines? The Sororitas as a whole seem rather acceptive of the whole "machine spirits" deal, and the Cult Mechanicus is a tolerated entity within an Imperium dominated by Ecclesiarchal faith. The oft-promulgated idea that the Machine God is just an aspect of the Emperor probably goes a long way to smoothen things not just for the Imperium as a whole but also for a Sister having to endure being trained by Tech-Priests. If they actually do this and not simply pass on their knowledge from Sister to Sister.

Thanks - I am thinking that maybe its part of the deal after the Icara Crusade when the Ecclesiarchy handed over the data banks and obtained the "material support of the Mechanicus"- could fit......

I've found that simple repair work or lesser mechanical repairs no one has problems with,
But anything do to with more advanced stuff like the computors or mechanisms then the Tech Preist/Mechanicus gets involved.
They don't complain when a guard unit puts the armored plates back onto a tank but should they try to calibrate the steering or gun system then there are problems.
So for the sisters I would imagine it would be the same.
