CCS: Lascannon, camo-cloaks

Melta Vets
Melta Vets

PCS Flamer x4
(PIS: Plasmagun, AC) x3

Vendetta x2 (holding Melta Vets)

LRBT

Rune Priest TDA Divination for rerolls on blob

Wolf Guard x4
SS+Wolf Claw (WG pack leader for the GHs)
TH
Wolf Claw
TDA

Grey Hunters x8
Wolf Standard
Meltagun
Rhino

All adds to 1472.

My major issues are the LRBT, I love them but I feel like it is weak and this list feels like it might have horde issues if they don't get in range of the platoon's lasguns.
Also the ap3 on the WC might not cut it when it comes to duels. Maybe that could be a frost axe...

The 30pts could be used to give demolitions to one of the melta vets. or I could take a Demolisher and one more grey hunter.

Ideas? Criticisms?

Star Trek taught me so much. Like, how you should accept people, whether they be black, white, Klingon or even female...

The Wolf Guard : You can't really take enough of them to make them good. After you put one of them with the grey hunters, you're left with a unit of just three...That's not enough.

You'd be better off with a unit of long fangs and no wolf guard at all.

Horde problems? Plasma Cannon LRBT (called a Vanquisher, as I recall). All the pie plates. All of them.

They are my bulwark against the Terror. They are the Defenders of Humanity. They are my Space Marines, and they shall know no fear.

The 3 wolf guard are more as a counter charging unit that give me piece of mind at my rear. Yeah it's a lot of points to sit there, but there's always something that deep strikes. The wolf guard on the squad is to accept/issue challenges, which I feel is needed.

The long fangs do sound nice, but what about counter assults? My CCS is incredibly squishy. The LFs would also really help alleviate the horde issues by ploughing things with frag.

The Executioner is the tank you're referring to. It sounds delicious, but comes at a hefty points cost and can glance itself to death.

Pie plate glory comes with a cost. Maybe swap it for a Hellhound? I admit I don't know much of anything to do with IG (other than GOOD LORD, MELTAS, WHY SO MANY?!) but I'm pretty sure copious amounts of glorious promethium, correctly applied, solves most problems.

Again, I like your thinking, but HHs are pretty prone to being destroyed. Horde armies know they're terrifying and without back up (note the lack of any armor other than the LRBT) they are going to get picked off very quickly. I take one when I run my vets in chimeras, but with the huge amounts of fliers in my local meta, I can't afford to not use vends.

Why don't you use some more Grey Hunters for counter assaults? They're pretty good - even without wolf guard - and they're a lot cheaper than wolf guard with close combat toys.

How many would you recommend? Pack it out with 2x10 Grey Hunters? One squad spending their slots on guns and the other one spending their slots on CC weapons? Sounds pretty decent. Thickens out my defensive line too.

Edit: Just saw a problem with that. The lack of a storm shield for my forward objective sitting GHs. The reason I picked up the wolf guard was purely for tanking ap3/2 with a storm shield.

Perhaps drop the LRBT for a a Space Wolf Vindicator. Less range, equal or better tank killing potential and devastating to swarms of anything.

your blob isnt going to surivive very long. any amount of blasts or small arms fire cuts guardsmen down. Thats why i bring 100 or more of them. I think for the points you would be better off taking more vets

I disagree, I didn't include it in the list, but I have an ADL within the 1500pts. This combined with automatic regrouping from ATSKNF provided by the Rune Priest means I can go to ground every turn for a 3+ cover save.

Not sure I would tl the blob with the rune priest. A 5 plasma cannon executioner on the other hand...

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Also I have had better experience running a msu pis with an ac over a blob. On a last note the ccs can already tl the blobs ac v a vehicle.

Chaos isn’t a pit. Chaos is a ladder. Many who try to climb it fail, and never get to try again. The fall breaks them. And some are given a chance to climb, but refuse. They cling to the realm, or love, or the gods…illusions. Only the ladder is real. The climb is all there is, but they’ll never know this. Not until it’s too late.
