Back when the hideous plastic daemonettes were first unleashed on the market, I noted that they looked an awful lot like the mummified denizens of a Tomb King's harem. I brought up the point again the other day while in discussion with someone. And then it occurred to me - why not paint a unit of them up as mummified concubines and use them as a "counts as"?

The problem, unfortunately, is that there aren't exactly that many good options for a ravening horde of mummified women in a TK army. That means that I need to come up with a reasonable (or at least amusing) option for them.

Option 1 - Warriors: Run them as a bog standard unit of warriors. Unfortunately, they're not exactly kitted out properly (no shield), and it's a bit of a boring use for them. But it's an option.
Option 2 - Tomb Swarm: Obviously they wouldn't actually be a swarm of biting insects. But a swarm of mummified concubines biting and scratching with sharp boney fingernails might work out in a similar fashion. Mount four women (or maybe three to make it look a bit less uniform) to a base and call it done.
Option 3 - Stalkers: Similar to the insects, mount multiple women on each base. In this case, the "gaze attack" is the mummified women on the base performing the ancient equivalent of a "Come Hither" look, and the damage inflicted is the suitably sanity-destroying response from the viewers.
Option 4 - Casket of Souls: Instead of the priest with the Casket, it's the King's mummified concubines performing a sensual dance for his pleasure. Unfortunately, the dance has a rather pronounced sanity-destroying effect on the living.

Thoughts? Which option would you go with? Or would you do something else entirely?

Unit filler for Tombguard? The guards are protecting his Harem, watching over them as their King is on the field of battle. The Casket of Souls also sounds nice, or perhaps as the crew for that large construct. Build it like a pleasure howdah, the ladies lounging about and pelting those who come near with bottles of (now acidic) perfume, jewelry boxes, etc.

6th edition lands on June 23rd!

Good news. This is the best time in the hobby. Full of promise. GW lets us down each time and we know it but secretly we're hoping that this is the edition that GW gives us a balanced game that can also be played competitively at tournaments. I'm loving it.

There's plenty of options for ravening mumified women in TK. Just not a Harem, whose purpose is to not really do anything except be all concubine-y. You could use them as musicians and standard bearers in each unit I guess.
