Recently started playing Tau, so I'm just hoping to get people's views on my list.
What's good?
What could be better?
Where am I wasting points?
Looking to make lists as competitive as possible.
Lessons learnt here will be applied to larger list when I make them in the future too.

I've tried to keep everything as clear as possible, but let me know if anything is unclear.

Are you running the shas'el solo? or attached to a squad?

because at that point one of the squads squad leader can be demoted to a regular suit to save on points

i havnt used target locks toooo much because i find my self focus firing a single threat at a time but thats personal prefrence

you may or may not want a devil fish to protect the firewarriors when crossing the fields

otherwise looks fun and jump shoot jumpy

Shas'el would be attached to a squad, so thanks for that suggestion. Gives enough points to give the Shas'el a Targeting Array (+1BS) and a few points to spend on other things.

Devilfish would cost as much as a FW squad, so I reckon it would be better to stick to 3 squads rather than have 2 squads of which one is in a Devilfish.

Target locks I like because they offer in-game options, and having options is nice. They probably aren't essential though.

I am also starting tau so I am not too sure how good the advice I can offer is but here is my shot.

First the xv8 crisis suit team point cost is wrong. You may have forgotten to add 5 for the team leader. It should be 214.

gundrones with the crisis suits seem pointless. The pulse carbine range is only 18'' but your suits want to stay at long range. You should upgrade them to shield drones which have a much better survivability do to increase toughness and a lower save.

if you are going to put your shas'el in a team with the crisis suits you can just use his shield drones and that team doesn't need a black sun filter.

Someone told me making a firewarrior a shas'ui is worth it for the +1 leadership, but that would drop your unit down to 8 meaning 2 deaths = 25% rather than 3. So I am not sure which is better. if you do that a shas'ui you can add blacksun filters which are nice if you keep your firewarriors at 30'' range.

This is the list I am working on. I haven't used it but I hope it helps a little.
