i know the codex clearly doesnt say that i can place two chainswords on one marine, but i ran out of bolt pistols and i dont want to have one of my marines crippled =P. could i use a dual chainsword look purely for aesthetic purposes and still say he has two CC weapons?

As long as there have been multipart models, people have been modeling Marines, Orks, and so on with pairs of close combat weapons or akimbo pistols. It's the kind of thing where technically the dude's proper wargear isn't modeled, but nobody will really mind and as long as the squad he's in is mostly modeled properly it won't be confusing.

That works or if you have like another hand to put on like pointing or a granade then just say he has his bolt pistol holstered

To many unpainted models to count. |

Well seeing as it doesn't make a difference if you had an extra chainsword as the BP would give you an extra attack anyway, anyone having a problem with that are idiots It's fine mate!

WYSIWIG does not cover basic equipment, only additional upgrades. So a Marine with a Meltagun, by WYSIWIG, much have a meltagaun. An Assault Marines bolt pistol and close combat weapon are basic equipment, and not covered by WYSIWIG (though it does help). If you give an Assault Marine dual chainswords or dual pistols, he still has bolt pistol and close combat weapon, since his profile includes those weapons.
