Procrastinating.

So, I have come into possession of the Ravenwing battleforce, but with the new codex coming out pretty soon, I started to look for alternatives so as not to look like I'm a bandwagon player. I like the Blood Angels army themes, but are bikes going to be of any help in a Blood Angels army? I'm not out to win tournaments with this army, but I like winning as much as the next man.
Thanks in advance.

don't be ashamed to be playing a army you got or like.

I have a deathwing army and if they become so good that everyone wants them there is nothing wrong with it. Its not your fault you like the army and now GW made it broken be happy about it.

Well bikes arn't normally seen in blood angels mainly because c:SM can take a captain on a bike and make them troops but they are pritty good now that there always toughness 5 especially when you factor in a sanguinary priest on a bike which will be giving feel no pain and furiour charge to anything within 6 inches will make these bikes seriously hard to kill. Also if you have any scout bikers you can drop a locater beacon on them and have a bunch of termies droping in turn 2 in your opponent deployment zone.

Yeah, C:SM bikes with a capt would be the way to go imho. Not only do the already solid bikes become scoring units but the Capt himself can be tooled up to do some serious damage.

Ignore the folks who deride you for "jumping on the bandwagon".

I played Deathwing for two years prior to the FAQ update, where everyone suddenly started throwing CML's on Thunder Termies. When I'd show up with my old Tactical Terminator list, people would go "Hurr, you just jumped on the bandwagon" and "you're doing it wrong".

Haters gonna hate. Ignore the haters.

That being said, you could run those Ravenwing as a C:SM bike list easily.

Do an allied list between vanilla and blood angels

It is toss up between:
attack bikes with FNP, bikers with FNP, scoring vanilla bikers.

All of them have their advantages. I think vanilla bikers have it as scoring is so very important and combat tactics is awesome.

This.

You could do either a blood angels army that then allies a bike captain, 2 10x bike squads and an attack bike squad from FA (and then include a few BA bike squads as FA if you want), or make a codex bike army with some BA sprinkled on top.

I like the latter with priests on bikes. Question is does FA bike squads from the BA codex of at least 5 count as troops with a vanilla captain on a bike or Khan leading them? Khans unit would have fnp and hit and run, add a biket librarian for 5++.
