Pros:
Great venue, chest high tables
The player base is friendly and pretty easy going mostly locals. I think vwolf and I were the only out of towners.
Bone Dice pod cast provided cold water and soda
Brian's wife provided excellent bake goodies.
Plenty of time to play, rounds 2.5 hours with 15 min breaks.
Lots of room to maneuver.
Cost to entry is nice and cheap.
Cons:
Again no trophies.
Wish their was a different tie breaker than Victory points. It makes it so you have to play out your games and go for the table.
Fixed armies on prize support, wish it was just store credit and then I can shop for what I need. Still grateful though.
It felt like a 5.5 event instead of 6th with the lack of warlord traits, mysterious objectives, hammer anvil and relic.
I would have rather played at a lower point value and had all of the other options.
Note this was my first 6th event and my first game of 6th was my first round opponent ;p

Originally i was painting up a Necron flyer list for the event but made a last minute change to go with something more fun and friendly.
Round 1:
Space Wolves
Lord on Wolf
Rune Priest
50 Grey Hunters
5 termy wolf gaurd
2X5 long fangs missile launchers
Dawn of War objectives
He went first, we pushed models towards the center and it was a glorious smack fest.
We were both thankful for the lack of flyers and I won based on having more 2+
Round 2:
Imperial Gaurd
4 Vendetta's with 3 chimera's vets and a medusa.
Kill points, diagonal deployment
I went First
Turboed the Chaplain in front of his army.
My terminators
de-meched the Chimera's and I got lucky and wrecked the medusa
Mid game his Vendetta's came on and pretty much killed a unit each
My saving grace was he decided to hover to get more shot's and off load some gaurdsmen.
This allowed me to shoot at normal
BS with tank hunters.
By the end of the game I only had 4 Terminators and a single marine.

I went first
His dice betrayed him and I won.
Lets just say he didn't get his preferred wave, had terrible scattering and luck.
He smiled the whole time and said " That's the life of a demon player".

This game came down to my lack of knowledge.
I failed to realize that screamers are
str 5 ap2 in close combat and I had deployed in the open instead of terrain.
This pretty much allowed him to mow threw my Terminators.
I get tabled.
I did manage to kill Fate weaver with grounding and shooting along with the Demon Prince, Moral victory.
Round 5.

str 6 ap4 large blasts?
Ability to get to roll an extra shot per tank?
The basic jist is the chaplain survived the
str 10 blasts and proceeded to forge a narrative by playing wack a mole with his tanks.
5 great games, 6th is fun, looking forward to next year.
I dodged Necrons.
