6th edition for me as a wolves player has been intresting. we can no longer razorback spam because a few glances get rid of our glorous razorbacks, and running ALL missle launcher in the long fangs is not as great. we have no sargents to challange or take challanges... and no air craft to take out air force list. in a sence games workshop has left us pups out in the cold.

now on a side note here are some things i have been doing and trying and have had great sucssess with. for people who love razorbacks no longer is it a great idea to run 9, but its still not bad to run a few, i have been running las/plas razorbacks and loving it. only 4 though, they provide great fire power for midfield support and great anti heavy infintry. moving 6' and shooting one gun and snapfiring the secound is a great atrabute in this addition. but once again they can be glanced to death rather fast.

longfang out fitting has been intresting for me, although missle launchers are still pretty great there are down sides in this addition to them, for ex. most people dont run heavy vehicle spam so it eleminates the need for 15 missles. but the tanks and transports that are seen are rocking heavy armor. so missles arent punching the hole we need to let our grey hunters have at the prize in side.
so i have found running 2 out of the 3 squads of long fangs as still 6 man squads but 2las/3 missle, and the 3 squad as 6 strong and 5 missle, the las cannions are whats been doing the trick for opening up the heavy armor, and its AP 2 giving it a plus 1 to your damage rolls. but you keep the missles for light transports and crowd control if needed. this long fang load out has been doing me wonders in every aspect of this additon.

now as far as running squads you want to assult with or just big squads the best things ive seen performing well are the greyhunter 10 man squds, and because grey hunters are only base attacks of a 1 running a power fist is not worth the cost, a power wepon will usally only kill about one person a turn on avarge, but on the bright side we have the MARK OF THE WOLFIN. 15 pts on d6+1 attacks and rending, this is what i have found always performing in combat, rending is ap 2 now this is important to rember, and he can not be challanged out so hes safe for the most part, just put him behind people on the pile in move. always take wolf banners as well, ten points of rerolling 1s is the best when you need it. as far as the guns in the ten man squads go all outfits i have used. and i have loved all of them. 2plasma, 2 flamers, 2 melta, all have done there job to perfection. with this addition we also have to rember, there no need for out ten man squads to charge, unless who you about to get charged from is going to really put the hurt on if they get to charge you. OVER WATCH is soooo good for you ten man squads. move up, dubble tap, over watch, counter attack. by the time they get to you, its just an unfair fight. now if your going to run 10 man squads i highly recomend drop pods. they get you where you want to go in ONE turn and also you have to rember, the drop pods and the greyhunters inside doint count aginst you in your reserves, because you can only have half of your army in reserves, they do not count because the drop pod is a decated transport and greyhunters are riding in it. so you can still keep units in reserve with out using them in your count. and the most important thing is that you get where you want to go in one turn, where as a rhinos you take you a minimum of 3 turns just to get into assult. thats if you get there in one 2 turns. so drop pods are deffently in my exsperance the way to go.

now my favorite subject, HQ choices, the one cool thing we got in this addition is DIVIDATION!! now this is a hard topic for wolves players because jaws of the world wolf is so good! but try it out its go some great stuff for wolves in there. reroll hits, over watching at you normal BS, making some one reroll there saving throws, and all types of good stuff. so if you just cant let go of you jaws, then take two!! and try one dividation. now if you a close combat guy and really want to try somthing fun, biomancy offers a really good way to make your rune priest a beast in close combat. giving them runic armor and biomancy will make them fighty. now chosing your runic wepon for your biomancy priest is important, i like the axe/halbert but outher options are all really good for them.
thats all i have to offer as far as runepriest go. wolflords are still really exspensive, and good but you do invest lots into them. wolf priest are pretty cool now exspecaly with a grey hunter squad with tons of plasma, you almost never get hot and you always wound. ten grey hunters only missing on 2s is pretty good. but once again its all prefrence.

as far as aircraft go guys i really dont have an answer for you, taking guard allies is about all i can offer...

thats about all i have to offer for now i hope i helped some of you. and i do apologize for the spelling!!

All our tactics still work. Razor spam was always bad, realistically. Scouts got hit with the nerf bat, sadly

Lone Wolves got way better. Like way better. They now have a 7 to 18" threat range, better FNP, and their only downside is only bad 1/6 of all games. Take them!

Lascannons are too expensive, missile launchers and a plasma cannon or two are still the king. Cheapest heavy weapons teams around are still awesome. Add in a rune priest with prescience and chooser and an aegis: Long fang support WITH a BS5 quad gun and five twin linked missiles. You will murder fliers.

Grey Hunters are still boss. No doubt. The Wolf Standard is the best 10pts in the codex thanks to helping with overwatch now, too. Take them!!!

Not sure if this is the right place to say it, but please sort out your grammar/general sentence structure, my brain hurts.

Back on topic: Pretty solid stuff, as TheKbob mentioned, most of our builds/tactics still work, in fact sometimes even better (as you mentioned with the double-tap plus overwatch).

I tend to sacrifice a Grey Hunter (and thus a second, free, special weapon) in favour of a WGPL with combi-melta and powerfist/wolf claw, this way you get some anti-vehicle and the ability to temporarily save your squad from a rampaging Demon Prince/Warboss.

Also Rune Priests with Divination attached to Long Fangs can do nothing but good, 100% agree there

If you're struggling against flyers, simply sacrifice 100pts or so for an Aegis Defence line with a Quad Gun. That or just pray for re-rolls with Divination on your Long Fangs.

once again i did say sorry about the grammer/spelling fun.

but back to wolves, flyer wise, the quad gun is ok but can only take out one flyer a turn and most of the time it cant even do that so i dont take one. you have to rember flyers usally come in twos or way more, ive seen 2-8 flyers in most list that can take them. not just one.

in reguard to the long fangs, i only use long fangs for long ranged tank poping, and if i half to ill use blast templates on missle launchers for CC, but i havent found plasma cannions as a great load out for them.

and lone wolfs i think are just not worth any points, ive never found them to be any thing to be scared of. any time ive played wolfs they never did any thing and the few times i gave them test drives they did nothing. but hey if your doing good with them do what you know.

Oh sorry didn't read your last sentence, it was late and I'm a rude sunuva when I'm tired, I apologise.

The last few games I've played there's only been about 2 flyers, maybe 3 in the lists, so the combo of quad gun and longfangs has proved to be quite effective, but that might just be my dice rolling :S

Lone Wolves with TDA and a Chainfist are a tank's worst nightmare I've found, as they're relatively hard to target (being a lone model, blast weapons aren't as likely to hit them as opposed to a full squad of Grey Hunters), and they can dish out a world of hurt when they get there (eventually, they are pretty slow...) and hey, even if they don't get to the tank, I've had a Lone Wolf with TH and SS hold up a Warboss and about 15 Boyz for 2 turns of combat before caving in the Warboss's skull (though this was back in 5th, and my brothers' dice rolling was appalling). They're great at tarpitting big squads
