Good day, extimeed strategists and admirals of Bfg, I've just started a BFG imperial fleet and I quite like the idea of waves of bombers cruising through space, protected only by thin screens of fighter crafts, hunting behemoth ships and killing them a small prick at a time, like fleas on a buffalo.
And they seem quite effective at it, too.

Anyway, attack and fighter crafts made by GW seem rather bulky and ill-defined, so I'd like to know what models do you usually employ; are there any good alternatives? Or some easy way to scratchbuild them?

I've already had a look at the beautiful miniatures by GrimDarkBits, and they would currently be my first choice, but I thought I'd ask some other opinions to have the wider possible array of options.
Thank you in advance.

There was B5 markers that roughly were the same size that looked nice

Those seem really nice! There are even some sellers which still have them.
They certainly are a good option, any idea of their size? Would the normal ones or those in the Fleet Action scale look better in BFG?

I've seen them mounted on whfb infantry bases which is roughly correct for BFG

I use markers, you can download them from the GW site.

Here you can download extra markers:
