Subject: Question about Wolf Guard Terminators

I'm starting a Space Wolves army and wanted to put Logan Grimnar and Arjac Rockfist and three Wolf Guard Terminators in a drop pod. However, the "Pack Leaders" rule says that you can split off units from the wolf guard before the battle and attach them to other units. Can I use this to have five models in the squad (allowing me to take a cyclone missile launcher), and attach the fifth model (with the CML) to a unit of Long Fangs? I wanted to make sure I wasn't reading the rules wrong, but it looks like doing it this way counts as five models for the purposes of taking the cyclone missile launcher, but because that model goes to another unit before the battle, he doesn't take up space in the drop pod. Is this correct, or am I missing a rule or misreading what is allowed?

Thanks, I wanted to make sure before I tried to incorporate this into a list.

As further clarification, you do not even need 5 WG Termies before taking the cyclone. You can mix and match armors and other wargear so long as you have at least 5 WG.

Indeed, for low point games I am currently sticking an 18 point wg on a long fang squad to have an assault cannon in one of my troop choices.

You mean 33 point wg right? Since he has to be in termi armor to get the assault cannon. Technically 105 points since you need 5 wg to take the assault cannon. 4 normal and one termi at 33. Just wondering in case I something.

He meant an extra wolf guard with basic gear, giving a terminator-armored wolf the opportunity to take the Assault Cannon.

Aren't Long Fangs also not troop choices?
Edit: Nevermind, I think I misread what you wrote.

Bit of a reading fail there, a wg is 18 points. I put a plain one in my long fangs, I have 4 troops choices each with a terminator wolf guard, 3 have combi-melta and one of those TDA WG has an assault cannon.
Total cost is 195 to clarify.
Edit: That quote tool just shat itself. :(
