Id love to get some ideas on if what I have is decent, or if I'm completely off track, and also what are some good ways to go with the ol' Sons of Sanguinius.

Here's my current inventory:
Dante
Jump Pack Librarian
Mephiston
Jump Pack Chaplain

x5 Sanguinary Guard w/ one Infernus Pistol
Furioso Librarian
x2 Jump Sanguinary Priests w/ Power Weapons and Corbulo

X10 Tactical Marines w/ Plasma Cannon, Meltagun and Sgt w/PF+PP
X5 Assault Marines (not fully assembled yet, so open to suggestions for armament)
X10 Death Company foot sloggers, x2 Power Weapons, Infernus Pistol (x3 unassembled)
X2 Rhinos
X1 Razorback (unassembled)

Storm Raven (unassembled, am open to turret/hull weapon options)

So, I think that's it. Id love some feedback so I can make this stuff work and get it on the table!
I'm not totally interested in running spammed units, nor do I suspect ill be entering any tournaments with this army, so friendly game suggestions are probably where I'm at.

Thanks!

Your going to need more troops. You have a solid start, use the storm raven to carry the death company and get them into assaults, they became filthy nasty in 6th edition. Almost all of your elites and hq's have jump packs so you need to consider what you want to do with the army. If you want to do mostly jump pack troops or if you want to find some regular back packs for your hq's and go with foot sloggers or transports, or a mix of both. But, you have a good start, its just kind of mixed and confused.

Thanks for the reply! Mixed and confused sums it up pretty well I think.
Even when I look at what I have I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do with it haha

Even though Assault Marines are Troops, I do like the idea of a Tactical squad camped out on a home objective and/or laying down cover fire while everthing else manuevers into position.

I don't necessarily want to go footsloggers, because I have over 2000pts of Salamanders already painted, and they are mostly Tacticals in Rhinos backed up by Elites, Fast and Heavies.

I was also contemplating if using some of the units I have mounted in the Storm Raven would make a better allied contingent for the Salamanders than an army of its own. Any thoughts there?

Thanks!

Well, you can certainly play a mixed bag. Deploy a tactical squad in the back field to hold and lay down an extra long or mid range heavy weapons shot, i would deploy them in a rhino and try to hold them there until late game before getting them out, then advance with a storm raven hammer of death company. Keep in mind that DC can NEVER score.

You still need to have more advancing and advancing scoring units however, so thats the part where you need to determine your preferred style. You could do more assault troops in jump packs that can either advance quickly or deep strike into the are where they are needed. Vanguard vets are pretty damn sweet for this as they can drop in and assault same turn, thats a game buster, but they are points wise pricey.

The other two options are either assault marines or tactical marines in transports, assault marines should be taking razorbacks as they get a huge point discount on the transport that essentially gives you a really cheap weapons platform, then put a melta in the squad so when you arrive you have a nasty weapon when you jump from the transport. Tactical marines could take either, but that depends on how you equip them and what the plan is. If they sit in the back field firing their heavy weapon then take a rhino, for base equipment take a razorback for the mobile weapon platform so you can advance and fire the weapon on the turret.

Also, where you go here will affect your hq choices and equipment, i hope i have helped a little!

More troops! My buddy runs a list with 1 tac and 1 assault squad. It's not very effective, he relies on tabling his opponent to win.
While it is scary to see a DC and DC dred hop out of a storm raven, it makes me smile that none of that can score.

Star Trek taught me so much. Like, how you should accept people, whether they be black, white, Klingon or even female...

So, another thought I had, but am having a bit of indecision on is to utilize various units mentioned above as an allied force to my existing Salamanders army. The Salamanders currently come close to 2300pts of painted minis, but do lack any real melee or counter-attack units (closest being the x6 SB/PF Terminators I have)
It occured that I have several BA unit that could be used to assist and still keep a general narrative (War for Armageddon in which these Chapters were at the fore).
Here are some ideas I was kicking around:

#1-(moderate punch)
Jump Pack Librarian
x5 Assault Marines w/ various upgrades
Furioso Librarian
(all in) a Storm Raven

#2-(more punch/more AP3)
Dante
x5 Sanguinary Guard
Furioso Librarian
(all in) a Storm Raven

#3-(more elaborate/higher points)
Mephiston (on foot)
Furioso Librarian (on foot)
x5-6 Jump Death Company or x10 foot slogger Death Company
(and) Death Company Dreadnought
(transported in) a Storm Raven

I'm open to suggestions, and though I know its a little bit of putting all my ragey eggs in one giant flying armored missle equipped basket, the idea of a serious melee threat plowing onto the table via the Storm Raven and loosing the embarked units onto the enemy is delightful. I think this could compliment the shootiness of my Salamanders nicely!

Any ideas?
Thanks!

OMG...I just realized i can run my jump pack death company with the new rage rules, WHY HAVE I JUST THOUGHT OF THIS?????

One thing to keep in mind with your thoughts on the raven is this...

You are relying on it almost entirely to do your melee delivery. You cant come in until turn 2, you cant assault the turn you come in. That means for you, best case scenario, assault on turn three. That means your BT must sit tight for three turns before getting real melee support. Just putting that out there.

Victory is not the most important outcome. Enjoyment and excitement is the best outcome, victory is sweeter when it was fun.
