Right guys, just started on my Imerial guard ice world army,
I am wondering has anyone dipped ice theme models, they will be Lothern blue armour, bleached bone fatigues.
I was wondering if anyone knows what dipping stuff would be best?
Thanks
K
Orks is never beat in battle. If we win we win, if we die we die so it don't count as beat. If we runs for it we don't die neither, so we can always come back for anuvver go, see!
Your problem is trying to find a dipping shade that will suit both the blue and bone base colours. Personally I'd instead use two separate washes applied by brush - a dark blue over the blue, and a brown over the bone
I don't really know about the Lothern Blue and Bleached Bone.
For my ice themed guard I used Celestra Grey and Mechanicus Standard Grey then used a black wash over the entire model. Both those greys have very slight blue tinge to them, though not terribly strong so it mostly gets overwhelmed by the black wash. You can check out one of my guardsmen here...
Ignore the ugly snow base, I'm going to make some nicer snow from woodland scenics snow effect when I get back to Australia That dude was just my prototype.
