But this one's different.
I have brake fluid. I just don't quite remember how.

Stripping metal figures (steel legion), the plastic bases are considered disposable.
Should I use the stuff neat, or dilute it? If the latter, what with?
How long a soak is needed?
How do I wash the stuff off?
Is it safe to put it in a plastic container for the stripping, or will it eat straight through that?
Any worries about fumes?
Will it destroy the superglue holding them together?

* Pure
* I use DoT4 Brake Fluid and basically I can leave plastic/metal in there forever without it seeming to harm it. Plastic sometimes gets a bit discoloured although that could be remnants of the primer.
* I use a sieve to let the brake fluid drip back into the tank I use to store it
* I use an old plastic jug that used to hold anti-freeze and put that in an aquarium in case it leaked. So far after a few months it hasn't touched the plastic.
* I store my stuff in the garage that's pretty windy, so plenty of fresh air. Don't think the brake fluid gives off any toxic fumes though, only a faint smell
* Superglue becomes brittle over time. I usually take apart metal models quite easily.

Thank you!

Can it be re-used multiple times without it becoming totally saturated, then?

Well I clean the paint off away from the brake fluid so it doesn't get that murky. It does seem to get darker with time so obviously some dirt/paint is remaining in the fluid.

Haven't noticed any reduction in effect either, it seems to be more an issue of what varnish/primer was used in how easy it is to strip.

I usually do the brake fluid dip first and then for metal models I clean any remaining traces off with paint thinner or aceton.

Well, I gave them the plunge. There's a varied bunch sat in a takeaway container full of the stuff.

Plastic is stripping off well; the disposable marine in there is getting pale.
Someone's base has come off and is floating around loose.
Should I agitate them?
