Anyway, this is off topic, so seems like as good a place for any for this...

So I was at the psychologist's office I volunteer at, there was me, E1 (the psych) and E2 (another helper). We were discussing movies, and as a south sydney tragic and a fan of his movies, I believe I do love russell crowe. So the conversation was going on and on, and then this happened.

Me; *While writing on the board* What did you think about gladiator then?
E1; I oved it
E2; I didn't really like it, it was kind of pointless.
Me; *deadpanning* Are you not entertained?
E1; Coughs up her coffee and chokes for a bit
E2; blank stare, does not get it.
Me; Explains while E1 is still choking till I get atleast a half chuckle

I thought it was probably the highlight of that day of volunteering there.

Anyone else got times where they have whipped out a movie quote in real life (be that deadpanning or doing it motions and all) and had it be a hit, or fall flat on its face (or both?)? Theres got to be some good ones from amongst you dakka people (particularly the OT crowd)

I used to write down TV quotes I wanted to use in real life. I'm sure there have been movie quotes I've wanted to use too, but I didn't get around to them.

Ugh, no, that's one of the most annoying things in the entire world. Especially obvious ones and super hero movies.

I've never seen a movie where I thought the quote was so great that I just had to say it. Plus, I usually space out in movies and never remember anything but the last twenty minutes of them.

I actually like your joke though, because gladiator is a great movie.

I was at home with my brother, and there was some leftover cake we decided to eat. I gave myself a larger piece, and his was pretty mangled from my failure with the cutting. When he complained about his piece I replied, with a batman voice, "It's not the piece of cake you need, but the one you deserve".

I don't use movie quotes. I make my own up.

When a group of my friends and I are in a hurry and need to run to catch a bus or a ferry we simply scream
