I had looked into starting WHFB but due to be dissatisfied with GW I figured I might as well look into Kings of War, though the armies shown on Mantic Games' website didn't tickle my fancy.

So curious what armies there actually are, be they in the works or fanmade?

I'd be specially interested in something that'll let be build something close to an Engineer heavy Empire army or Wood Elves.

Wood Elves are part of the elf list.

As for artillery-spam, you want the dwarfs.
