Spoiler:
I have just finished reading the 40k novel Deliverance Lost and at the end of the novel Alpharius confirms that the Alpha legion stole the primarch genetic material along with all of Corax data on how they improved the raven guards geneseed. The Alpha legion also know how to undo the mutagen they introduced to the genetic material to ensure Corax failed to rebuild his legion and so in theory have a reliable way of improving the Alpha legions geneseed so that they can transform legionary's from humans to post humans in days instead of years. But the question is did the Alpha legion ever use this data to benefit the legion?

Doubt it. It'd make them too powerful - particularly compared to the current M42 Alpha Legion - and we have nothing to suggest they ever used it.
I suspect the internal schism being hinted at prevented any chance to use it and the knowledge has been lost as a result.

But then again, as always with the Alpha Legion, we don't really know.

"It is the great irony of the Legiones Astartes: engineered to kill to achieve a victory of peace that they can then be no part of."
- Roboute Guilliman

"As I recall, your face was tortured. Imagine that - the Master of the Wolves, his ferocity twisted into grief. And yet you still carried out your duty. You always did what was asked of you. So loyal. So tenacious. Truly you were the attack dog of the Emperor. You took no pleasure in what you did. I knew that then, and I know it now. But all things change, my brother. I'm not the same as I was, and you're... well, let us not mention where you are now."
