The new 6th ed rules got me thinking the other day on how to equip my deathwing termies.
IMHO with the nerf to PW and LC (AP3) I may have to drop them from my squad.
With the new shooting casualty removal, I am thinking to have some TH/SS at the front to soak up some AP2 shots.

My squad for 6th now goes;
TH/SS
TH/SS
AC/PF
SB/CF
SB/PF

Any thoughts?
Also, which terminator would it be more fluffy to bestow the status of 'Veteran Sergeant' on?

I'd keep some lightning claws on the VS as then he can murder your opponents tax sergeants with PF in a challenge, protecting the rest of the squad from getting fisted.

3xTH/SS cyclons as hvy weapons on a TH/SS dude 2 SB/PW dudes . no other squads.

Yeah it depends if you are playing competitive all TH/SS they just allow you to ignore your opponents heavy hitting weapons. Also cyclones offer a bit more versatility than assault cannons.
Sergeant should be a TH/SS.

if you just wanna have fun I use all shooty squads to great effect.

Its not really competitive play. Just games with friends or down at the local store/ clubs.
So, should I drop the Assault cannon and add a CML to one of the TH/SS?

The only considerations I would make aside from all TH/SS would be one set of lightning claws works well for challenges (as stated above). And the current rumors mention you cannot put heavies on assault termies, thus having one guy with a SB/PF or CF. Other than that TH/SS right now is just better.

Having taken one squad as an ally in games and having them tote along with Lysander its fun to have the shooty rerolls.

That works pretty well also if you want use thin super glue and lightly glue the cml to TH/SS they come right off if needed

Maybe give the sarg. SS/TH in order to survive challenges then instant kill things.
