I was thinking about something super random the other day and I realized that many people would probably be inspired or whatever by hearing the story.

Anyways, Killswitch Engage played a show in Jacksonville NC back in 2007 right outside Camp Lejeune. They got there a day early and took time out of their schedule to try and visit wounded marines on base, making effort to get in contact with the platoon sergeants of the Wounded Warriors Battalion East barracks. I was one of these platoon sergeants. No offense to any of you who are actually MPs, but a b**** MP officer chick straight up told KSE "We ran out of passes".

We took it upon ourselves to take our government duty van out the front gate and bring them on base at around 10pm or so. We had special overnight Wounded Warriors Battalion guest/family passes specifically for such an occasion, so all was well in the world. Had some pictures taken with KSE, they ordered pizza with us and were actually very caring individuals. We definitely felt like we snuck them on and then back off base in a tiny white van which is a little creepy. Those of us who were able to go see their show were given free tickets and those of us who could not stand by themselves were given the opportunity to watch from the side of the stage.

This happened a while back and I wanted to share it before I forgot about it, like so many other things. There's a lot of things that happened during my time as a grunt and this memory is great to have.

Please buy something from this band and support them, whether you like metal or not.

That's cool. I don't particularly like that whole genre of music, but I'm sure I'll develop a taste for it, like everyone else

When did you get out?

This is awesome, I do like KSE, and it's nice to hear they did something like this.
