So I just posted a full review with pictures over on my site www.lostinthewarp.com and I wanted to share this one with as many hobbiests as possible because this stuff is so neat - one of the absolute best products I have EVER come across for miniature modelling. No Hyperbole - pure truth here - this product has blown my mind. :thumbsup

The product is AK Interactive's Gravel and Sand Fixer. This is an alcohol based clear glue that is used to attatch gravel, sand, flock, static grass etc to surfaces or- as is specific to the miniatures hobby - to scenery and bases. This glue can be added by brush or eye dropper under or over (or both) basing materials. It dries ultra fast, does not frost, wont yellow and holds really well! It can be layered where desired and any overage can be carefully cleaned up with rubbing alcohol or simply dull coated over.

Seems like such a small thing to get excited about but basing and gravel work is something we all do as miniature painters and this is the kind of useful thing that can really change our entire concept of how work is done.

so... yeah.. heads up, check it out on my review, get some for yourself, enjoy! :[

I've been interested in trying out some AK Interactive products myself, they've got some great stuff for weathering that I've seen used to create some awesome results. I'll have to check out your article, and while it does sound great for basing, I'd wonder what the price comparison is to using this over cheap glue. 'Course its performance compared to cheap glue would be a factor

Seems nice, though ultra-thin ca glue works in this capacity as well nicely, and has been my weapon of choice for years.

How much is this stuff? Id be curious to see the price comparison to ultra-thin ca glue.

at $10USD per 100ml it is much cheaper than CA but more expensive than PVA glue (unless of course it is GW PVA glue.....).
Also Ca has fumes and can create a chemical frost across a model. This stuff doesnt.

Last night I also tried it on GW snow basing - it worked great! I am always worried about adhesives and white snow finishes but it stayed clear and soft without strange clumping or additional residues.

I haven't had a chance to look at it too much - but it is probably just a premix of what we used to call "wet water" for modeling (railroads and stuff like tanks).

Some people use dish soap in theirs - I tend to do a 50/50 mix of water and rubbing alcohol...and then add a small amount of acrylic or PVA for the adhesive part of things.

I use white glue for that and never had a problem.

I might contact them asking for the MSDS on it, cause I believe its a repackage of a existing product.. Seems like a neat product though..
