Man, I can not get this front door mechanic to open/close smoothly.

Anyways, more importantly.. The weapon sponsons fit onto the side doors. Now this is big because there are a front set of dors and a rear set. I see a lot of the artwork portraying the weapons on the front but many times on the models I see the weapons on the rear doors. Is there a "correct" placement?

There is no correct way! I used to put the guns on the back but decided to start putting them on the front because to my eyes it just looks more technically correct in terms of firing; put them at the back and to my mind your troops get shot as they climb out!
No idea what to suggest about the hatch mechanism; I gave up after my very first Land raider and just glue the hatches in place!

I put the weapons on the rear doors because it looks better. But there is no "right" way.

Best thing to do with the front ramp is glue the $%&# thing shut. Keeps the front end nice and clean AND you don't have to paint the inside (or even add the interior sections...bits for later use).
As for weapon placement, Las cannons usually go in back (48" range...you're going to get him). For the flamestorms and hurricane bolters most people put them in front. This gives your shorter range weapons an extra 2" or so of range (measured from the weapon).
As for the mechanics of getting out in front of your gun when he shoots, yeah...5th ed. In 6th you get out up to 6" away.
So you can get out and lineup out of your flamers LoS, let the flamestorm kill a bunch of dudes (casualties taken closest to the LR), then still get the charge off he he dosn't break.

Life isn't fair. But wouldn't it be worse if Life were fair, and all of the really terrible things that happen to us were because we deserved them?
