Crucible 1850
HQ
Captain on bike w/ bike, artificer armor, relic blade - 180 pts
command squad w/ bikes, 4x stormshields, 4x lightening claws, 2x meltaguns - 345
Elite
5-man th/ss termies in landraider godhammer - 450 pts
fast
storm talon w/ typhoon - 155 pts
3-man attack bike squadron - 2x multimelta, 1x heavy bolter -130 pts
troops
2x 9-man bike squads w/ Attack bike/mm, 2x plasma guns -295 each
This is what i'm thinking on using, having decent fire power and also two dedicated assault units. But I would like to see what anybody thinks I should change or maybe mix around/take away/ or add.

Drop the 3 attack bikes (just not very good, especially with 2 meltas and 1 h bolter.) and add a vindcator.
Helps against hoard and armor as you dont have alot to deal with massed units of troops. You can get bogged with bikes even though there insane this edition!

Amazing against hordes.
Im seeing a lot of these lists starting to pop up. Reinforces the tendancy to take terminators. What are your LCs and relic capt going to do then?
At this points level if i could neuter one if your bike squads you are toast. Its a glaring vulnerability for obj games.
Cool list, love the pimped cmd squad, but there will be games that turn against you quickly because your weaknesses can be easily exploited by a good opponent.

Well, I do plan on combat squadding the bikes to at least give me 4 scouring units.
In your opinion, what would you toy around with for the list?

The role of a troops choice is firstly to survive.
You have 300 points in each troops choice and because they are so points rich, you have to use them as your main combat elements, which is in direct conflict with their primary role. I see this as a major issue w bike armies. They can be done very well, but they need to recognise and balance that role/tasking challenge.
If you have a read of game 4 here

That was a scary bike list. The volume of fire, and speed, were terrifying. I gotba draw due to the clock but in reality he flogged me like a carpet.

I'm not sold on the idea of having 2 'death stars'. I mean, the termies are one thing, but also a 300+ point command squad... Leaves you shy of points for other 'necessities'.
Take your troops for example, 2 full bike squads, totalling 16 bikes and 2 attack bikes. Granted they get T5 and a jink save... they will not survive the volume of fire an 1850 point army can put out. This causes a problem, seeing as 5 out of 6 games are objective based.
My honest opinion would be to cut the command squad, buff the 3 man bike squad to a min sized troop bike squad and sprinkle with flexible units.
Oh, and a final thought, your death stars are combat orientated. 6th is (suposedly) a 'shooty' edition.
