I disagree with both.
Don't get me wrong, I love X-com, but I would hardly call it the Greatest Game of All time.
There are too many flaws for it to own that title.

It is an excellent demonstration of Moore's Law, however.

Also, you know how Event Horizon is part of that Unofficial fan depiction of the Warp?
Well, I like to think X-COM as the basis for the Deathwatch. It makes sense, sort of. Hell, even the Power Suit looks a bit like Powered Armor.
