Hello,

If I'm facing armies with 2+ armour saves or AV14 vehicles I make a point of taking something to worry them from a far; usually lances, las cannons or mutlimeltas. I presume others think like this to some extent. I see a battle against this army going something like this:

Deployment - you have a landraider and a drop pod on the board.

If you are against a horde or a fighty army the drop pod gets swarmed if you are agressive with it or it leaves your troops out of position and lets the emeny focus on one threat at a time.

All anti armour gets thrown at the landraider and if lucky takes it out in the first two turns leaving your terminators exposed. Or the terminators managed to reach a target, rip through it and then face anti-armour weapons which take most of them out.

I think what I am saying is that in the battle the terminators will lack support.

I do like the list and think the redeemer is the right tank to go for (I'll probably steal the list and insert Chaos at the front of it - wooo haa haa, we're evil after all!); I would consider changing one of the drop pods for a rhino so that in the first turn all of the army is active and you can go after mutliple threats at once.

This reminds me of one of the earliest marine lists I made back in thrid addition.

If you think it'll work give it a go, but consider this you are putting almost half your points into just 6 models with the Termies and Land Raider so it'll only take a couple of lucky shots to absolutely devastate your list. That said you may throw people with such a selection I remember my Raider at 1000pts caught people out more then once, when they didn't have the fire power to deal with it.

Imperial Guard- Cadian 404th- 2500pts
Orks- Krugz Krushaz- 2000pts
Space Marines- Storm Enforcers- 300pts (starting over)

I would go rhinos over pods. You have a quarter of your army in reserve, waiting for the right moment to arrive. And probably showing up at the wrong time.

I prefer the stock phobos/godhammer pattern over the redeemer. You don't have a lot of long range fire, and next to no AA fire. TLLCs will help with that.

I'd swap the librarian for a chaplain. Drop the maul and PC from the second tac squad to get the points for a suit of TDA for him. Or just hide him behind the wall of steel when not in CC. I also like a mix of claws and hammers. I run 2:3.

Who's camping your objective? If you are planning on combat squadding, think about razorbacks for the mobile element. It's just a few points for some nice guns. If you keep the PC, he's a good candidate. If you scrap him for points, the ML you get for free also works. Never take a PC in a mobile squad. I hate paying points for something that you can't snap fire and is going to be moving for most of the game.

You are going to either be dropping your marines with no support at all with this list, or you are going to place them out of position with nowhere to go.

If you want to run pods, I think you should make a few changes.

1 - Lose the Plasma Cannon - you cannot fire it as a Snap Shot and the pod will be too close to make it worth it - the idea of a MM here I actually like
2 - Put a combi weapon on the sergeant to blow - I like a Combi-Flamer here, but Combi-plasma is also good
3 - Add two units of Sternguard in pods- now you have some big time shooting to drop down on your opponent
4 - Lose the Terminators/Land Raider
5 - If there are points left (there might be with these changes) add a Thunderfire - two reasons. It provides Horde protection, and it provides another drop pod so you can put down 2 units of Sternguard and one unit of Tacticals on Turn 1.

Revised the list a smidgen. Dropped the Drop Pod in favor of Rhinos. Did a crunch test today. Didn't do too bad. The Redeemer was the star of the show, killing two squads of Necron Immortals in two turns of shooting.

I was going to suggest going Sternguard in pods, the trouble is the no names character restriction means they can't score.

I'd be inclined to go for a vanilla landraider as you don't have much that can deal with armour in the list, as the MM won't be able to fire effectively on the turn they arrive!

You could even take tactical terms with cml and load 5 tacs in the raider for protection with the SGT and heavy on a objective.

At small points levels TFC are supreme. I would find the points for one. Maybe 5 CCW scouts in the raider as second troops choice to free points.

Grats on the win. Raider is a big vulnerability in list as is. If your opponent can have your assault terms walking early you will struggle.
