I am looking for some suggestions or conversations of how orks best fight one another. I have considered an array of things and wondered which is best... any ideas would help immensely

Lootas, Burna Bommas, Dakka Jets, Killa Kanz with Grotzookas, and Burna Wagons strike me as some of the best options, and are all immensely effective against Orks.

Lootas and Dakka Jets will tear up any non-wagon vehicles they have. Grotzookas will tear a sizable chunk out of 20+ sized hordes in a single volley. Burna Bommas are fantastic against infantry, and really great at getting rid of pesky enemy Lootas. Burna Wagons are just a thing of beauty against Orks, both offensively and defensively.

Sluggas in Trukks will only want to target vehicles, or units of boyz that are at most 75% the size of your slugga unit size. KMB's (if you're brave enough to field them) will seriously endanger any MANZ, while Nob Squads - and especially Nob Biker squads, will have to be dealt with by simple quantity of fire. Rokkits help, but less so against the Biker variant.

Powerklaws are less desirable in this matchup, and are only heavily recommended for Nob squads, MANz, and vehicles. Big Choppas come into the spot light in a much bigger way, since they will work fantastically against Ork vehicles (str7 on the charge, 3+ to hit, vs armour 10 rear in all cases), and will be hitting BEFORE normal boyz and PK Nobs.

Assault \ ram non-burna wagons, just ram burna wagons. Remember Trukks with Reinforced Ram can ram other vehicles.

Orks are an infantry and light vehicle slaughterfest army. I would imagine that all of their strong choices would work great against other ork armies (after all, thats probably who they fight the most anyways )

What would be tough though is lists like nob/warbiker spam, or mass amounts of meganobs. Of course, there your only real choices are to get the charge and whittle them down under weight of attacks and shots.

Dakkajets are ridiculously good against ork infantry and.... dakkajets. Make sure to go second if you have the choice.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.

Grotzooka killa kanz will bring crazy hurt against vehicles and boyz alike.

Personally when I go orks v orks I usually try to run mek themed lists with as many grots as possible and call it a popular rebellion.

SAG vs. mega nob spam, also... warbiker boss leading biker nobs... Seem to be common in alot of greenskin armies, T5 so can't be insta-gibed by mega nobs, and will get a 5+ cybork then a 5+ FNP... Mega nobs will get 2+ vs normal nobs and no saves vs. PK wounds.. (unless cyborked... and even if so... and they even have mad doctor with them... they still T4 and get no FNP from S8+ PK wounds)


I think looted wagons can do decently vs. bikers (they will get 4+/FNP but 2s to wound on a pie plate!) , as well as dakkajet/loota massed fire, Hell... if you could get a deffdread into combat with a squad of nob bikers that doesn't have many big choppas left.... It will die in the ensuing onslaught of PK attacks... but if it and something else both charged them it stands a chance.. If it had 4 attacks (3 base and 1 from xtra DCCW i think) and +1 from charging.. (other weapon could have fire a skorcha before charging lets say) that would have you hitting with 3, wounding with 3. and instant killing 2/3 of the ones you wound. Another though lots of skorchas/kombi-skorchas could do well vs. bikers.. flash gits would be good to fire at bikes as well.

If the mega nobs boss dies could try shooting plane at them too.. 2+ is a pain to get thru but it you do could end up pinning them, which could prove useful.

Lootas vs Ork mob - gets ugly..even agaisnt Ard boyz.

Most ork guns are AP 6, which usually sucks. Most ork armour is 6+, however..

Orks do well against other orks, as even orky tanks aren't that hard to crack with orky guns

GSC - about 2000 Pts
Rhulic Mercs - um...many...
Circle Oroboros - 300 Pts or so

thanks for all the info, i've debated on the burna wagon too... thing is i hate tailoring to meet my enemy in combat i understand tailoring is a perspective but am trying out ideas that aren't very far from my initial lists using things like burna bombahs is a little out of left field same with burna wagon

my enemy does the exact same tactics as me which is foot slogging + kan wall + Kff

part of me wants to be the more aggressive ork , taking out his kans early and then assualting with things like burna boyz in a battle wagon since most his gunz are only Big shoota spamm making me effectively almost impossible to cut down from gunfire once I have started in on him and the burna boyz have wall of death which means they are effectively immune to foot slogger counter chargers.

Think Burna wagon is gonna be the name of my game, i better pack a deff rolla just in case of kanz still be alive by the time my battle wagon gets there

Ork vs. ork is rare? Like 99.9999% of who orks fight is other orks. Why bother going over there when you can have a good fight right here?

As for ork v. ork, there is no particular magic bullet. What you were likely already bringing is a lot of lootas and shootas, and perhaps a single good close combat unit just in case. All of these things are good against orks.

The only things you'd probably want to put away are anti-AV14, but as orks don't really have access to that in the first place, there's no real loss.
