On Nimbosa, cramming as many guardsmen into troop carriers as possible.

After reading Grimaldus, I was wondering whether Emperor titans were still produced or they oonly have a finite number.

I don't think so now, I think it is a lost relic from a time long since past. Either that or it is still in production but like most titains the bigger they get the longer it takes to build.

They are definitely finite, no question. If the IOM can indeed replace them it would take a very long time to do so.

It takes them several hundreds of years to make, they also need space bug enough to build it in.

The space marine game is partly remoled around the manufacturing of an emporer titan.

Forge worlds can build them, they're just tricky to make. Much easier to refit an existing model or salvage a "dead" one from somewhere.

Space Marine was set around a Warlord titan manufactorum though. But to the OP's question, I'd say titans are produced, just massive amounts of time being taken to produce them, as all of the proper rites must be observed, certain components may take years just for materials to get there and years for them to be produced, meaning a loss of a single titan is a significant loss overall.

Think of it this way; are space cruisers still built??

If a cruiser from BFG was bigger than the transports, and the transports were large enough to transport a number of regiments, then the IOM can definitely build on that scale.

Its just a question of time that it takes and knowledge that can be lost, but we have nothing to compare it to. Imagine an entire planet dedicated to making war materiel, filled with workers who did nothing else. I reckon a lot more titans could be built than we give the Imperium credit for.

Every source I've seen always makes this out to be a definitive no.

As for spacecraft, many models are still built but older stuff like Grand Cruisers and the highest quality Battleships are not.

No, the game had you trying to get the Titan out of its restraints so it could blow up the spire. nothing about building it from the ground up.

That big building is the Titan Garage basically.

It was a Forge world, Graia. if IIRC there is Manufactorum Ajakis which is a titan manufactorum.

I'm pretty sure one of the reasons why the planet was deemed unacceptable to lose was because of its titan production.

Some one will have to find me a source either way before I'd believe them. However, I'd be inclined to think that Emperor Titans can still be made. They just take an incredible about of time, manpower, technical expertise, and material. Only a properly equipped, manned, and stocked forge world could do it. Such a world would be rare.

They are very rare. I mean, Cadia redirected the 412th Regiment to the edge of the flipping galaxy on the slight chance that a Titan could be recovered.

Think of something clever to say.

The fact that titans are not from the dark age of technology, in fact started to be made around the year 30,000 means that IOM knows how to make them. The question however is if they still have the facilities to do this. Considering there are thousands of forge worlds (or tens of thousands) I am inclined to believe that some have the facilities to make Emperator titans. As someone stated though, anything that big and complex would take hundreds of years, so it's definitely a finite resource.

Yes, its a Titan manufactorum. That doesn't mean they are actively building Emperor Titans.

If anything, they are a Forge World that can repair and rearm Emperors. They can replace lost parts and such. They may not have built any new Emperor Titans for thousands of years.

Other types of Titans may have been produced though. Warlord, Reaver, and Warhound Titans are regularily produced.

Ish.. Most Cruisers and Transports are probably constructed in specialised Orbital Shipyards rather than ground based hangers, sure smaller vessels, transports, possibly may be built on surface but I personally would find it unlikely however.
Id say the facilities to build Emperor Titans are much less common than the capacity to build Cruisers. Maybe on a par with the largest Battleships?

Probably the remaining known active Emperors are housed on Terra and Mars each protecting the two greatest halls of man. Just a guess since holy terra and all.

Yes, the Forge in Space Marine was a Titan manufactorum. That is not to say that it can build all Titans - maybe it only builds Warlords. We don't know because it was never specified in-game.

As for spacecraft... they have much more practical use than Emperor-class Titans. I mean, tactically? An Emperor-class is so big that it would suck. It's just like an enormous "Please do not be here" to any enemy, and a great big massive "Please hit me with orbital strikes".

They're also so big that they're extremely susceptible to being Death Star'd. That is, having a small elite team slip in and kill the pilots or something. Something that large could easily miss such an event, especially if the infiltrators were good at what they do. Honestly, I'd rather have a cruiser than an Emperor-class Titan.

I think the major part of their significance is that they're basically temples to the Emperor.

The Imperial Palace is protected by a Titan Legion. The Palace Gates themselves are protected by 2 Warhound titans.

Emperor titans are very rare and are only found in a few Titan Legions, where they are deployed in only the direst of warzones.

There are passages about Titan Legions gradually running out of Emperor Titans over time, to the point where they're considered sacred relics of the past. The book Dark Apostle has a Legion with its last remaining Emperor Titan.. This really indicates that they can't be built anymore.

Or that they just aren't. Titans are very hard to build, so its sort of break it and wait

This is not a difficult question.

Emperor Titans have been OOP since around '97 or '98 and now can only be found on ebay.

Someone tried to make Emperor Titans around '05 but GW sent him a cease and desist.

therefore I conclude that Emperor Titans are no longer produced.
