I have not been playing the game that long, probably for just about a year now. What this means is I came into the game after most armies were off the Armory system for their Codex. One of my favorite things about my Templars is being able to give my Marshal EW through Adamantine Mantle, is there any chance of this being kept once they get a Codex update? I do not know how much was lost for other Codex's with the Armory change or if having Adamantine Mantle is even BT specific or not. Thanks!

I say not likely to keep it. EW's for high-tier characters these days.

Space Wolves can still take it (or, well, Saga of the Bear, but it's just flat EW for 5 points less...). No one else can. Space Wolves always get extra stuff just because they're "special". Nobody really knows if we'll get to keep the Mantle or not, but I wouldn't count on it if I were you.

Yea....I figured as much. Kinda sucks though, I don't want to have to bring a Special Character just to have an EW.

I think that the Space Wolves' ability to buy it says it might be a possibility. if there's the option to buy it in the CSM dex I'd say it's definitely plausible.

I currently do not believe C:SM has access to this Wargear, so it is really a toss up.

I think he meant 'Chaos Space Marine dex', with the lack of a colon and all.

THough its still down to person writing the codex. If there is an EW granting peice of wargear in the Chaos codex, it just means Phil Kelly thinks it should be a peice of wargear. Wards books have lacked it, which means he thinks it shouldn't.

That makes sense, I did misinterpret what he said. Thanks for clearing it up!

It might stick around, but probably won't give EW.

If it does still give EW, expect it to be a item that can't be duplicated, can only be taken by Marshals, and will probably cost 60+ points.

My prediction is that it may give an invulnerable save and/or FnP.

Considering that SW get EW for 5 points less than the Adamantine Mantle, such a cost would be outrageous.
