As you may know I am new to the actual gaming side of Warhammer 40k and have been more involved in the actual painting rather than playing.

I would like to start a forum for people that are either new and looking for ideas, or veterans who would like to share their ideas, strategies etc..

My current list of Units is this.

HQ's - Tycho, Astorath, Mephiston.
Elites - Furioso Dreadnought
Troops - x10 Death Company (all jetpacks)
x15 Tactical Marines
x 5 Assault Marines
x 5 Close Combat Terminators

And that is it at the moment.

Now like I said I'm new so went for 3 HQ's to suit an variety of battles however I have no idea how many HQ's I can use at once.

Buy the rulebook. Read rulebook FAQ and codex FAQ.
Maybe even buy DV for rulebook and to have a few practice games.

You can only use 2 HQs normally. I would in fact get another one, as the HQs you have a little hard to use, they are nice HQs just a little too taxing for a new player.

The main thing is scoring units.
Then to keep scoring units alive(also assault units good at assault) bring some priests.

I would either go full mech or full infantry, these makes making a list easier and will give a list that is more forgiving.
This will be assault marines in razorbacks or squads of assault marines.
