I really only see myself getting Zone Mortalis for half of a board, but to do that I'd need a way to create a good-looking wall that actually makes a realistic-looking connection to the "outside world" (i.e. the outdoor part of the table).

But I haven't got a clue. Maybe just converted styrofoam and say it's concrete bunker walling...?

I presume the edge of Zone Mortalis is all one height, and so are the non-hill boards? So the question is whether they're roughly the _same_ height - if so, you wouldn't necessarily need a wall at all.

Nevertheless, I agree the border would be the logical place for any fortifications or buildings' walls, unless you're representing a non-military base. Would be an ideal use for long lines of 'City of Death' walls perhaps? Definitely something modular, so you can rotate which base sides are the city/country 'borders' and vary where gates/holes are..

Maybe I could make it an underground layer of a board that I could place an outside layer on top of with various entrances to the labyrinth below. Though I'm not sure how to interface with the center of the bottom layer without fething up the top. Maybe make 2 small separate boards, one representing the lower, mortalis level, and one representing the top, ground level?
