Okay, so this is an attempt at an armoured column, plus a TFC. (I've always wanted one) I really liked how I could take even more ridiculously cheap medium armour.
Of course, in saying this, I realise the Hull point issue: Armour isn't as survivable as it used to be, but I think that this is made up for by having simply more of it.

Now, I went with an even split between anti-infantry and anti-tank because I felt that tanks are going to be less used nowadays (I'm not sure about my meta - maybe they still use tanks out the wazoo.) and that hopefully, infantry are going to be a bigger showing.

That said, heavy bolters and auto-cannons deal admirably in my mind with paper armour like that of DE.

My army is simply my fifth edition army 2k army plus.

So, I'm looking for a few things in writing this in:

1. Are tanks weak, like I think they are? Have they become less survivable?
2. Are people taking more infantry? Are they taking more tanks? Monsters, maybe?
3. How the hell am I going to deal with flyers, bar taking talons? (first list only)

Come on guys, I'd really like some assistance here.

Have I done something to suggest that this list isn't worth a comment?

The key to Armour in 6th is to protect it. You're going to have to worry about vehicle cover a lot more. Don't expect to be able to charge your tanks out in the open.

Also, are you taking the razorbacks for combat squads?

Conduct While Gaming
While rolling a die, do not say, “Anything but a 1!” unless you wish the die to come up as 1. Any other such attempts to anger the “Dice Gods” will result in the existential equivalent of continuously flipping a coin and having it come up heads every time (for reference, see Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead). Your dice will be cursed to roll ones for everything other than morale checks, which will come up sixes.

ORK PLAYERS HAVE A LIMIT OF 1 SCREAMS OF WAAAAAAGH PER HOUR. violators will be forced to play tau.

Players with chimeras and las weapons shall pronounce chimera ki-mere-uh, not chim-ere-uh. Violators will be forced to play nothing but world eaters. Non-40k personnel must purchase and build a chimera.

Vloan buffed weapons are all short range yet your armour will want to present a static AV13 and 14 wall/firebase, so you may struggle with using your infantry and your armour

Like the list in general, just think you will need to balance the ranged fire of your armour against your infantry's shorter range.

TBH, there are four tac squads there for filling out the 4 troop choices needed for a double force-org chart. I could care less about them.

So you choose 200 points each squad. With no role for them?
Dont answer that.

Ah, You see, the second list has smaller squads to introduce flyers.

I'm sorry, I had forgotten that there were still an extra four hundred points sunk into marines in the first squad.

Now, referring to the first list:

What does 'vloan' mean? do you mean vulkan? because that's quite different to what you wrote.

The armour has worked brilliantly in the past. For the most part, I'm dealing with armies of blood angels and other fast, short range armies. What I used to find is that the balance of heavy weapons on tanks supported and protected by small infantry would mean that I would have a solid small-arms firebase that could protect the main package - those predators.

However, sixth edition has seen my tanks more fragile, and now a few well-placed Strength 4 shots is enough to low a predator and a few S8 shots enough to demolish a land raider

I'm tentative about buying this army wholesale because I don't know what sixth ed will hold for me. I know flyers will be a problem as will psykers. So, I threw both in.

I hope some of this makes sense

Yep sorry am writing on touch screen, meant Vulkan

I prefer second list however again i think you could drop Vulkan easily and use the points in myriad other ways. He is buffing some combiflamers and THs. How about a term chappy in the raider w hammers? With combiplasma from memory 135 points, leaving you some points for a speeder, some EA and other gear etc

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Edit Suggestions were either/or, ie 60 pts gives you speeder, or some more gear spread around etc

I'm tentative about the chaplain because it's a lower invuln, and it removes the sweeping power of assaut terminators (Vulkan can sweep for them.) While I see what you're talking about, a speeder is something I struggle to see value in, but I guess it's worth a shot. Maybe I'll go with TML on the stormtalons instead and some points into infantry, maybe.

Can we go back to the Razorbacks? The first list includes four, but has four ten-man squads to match. Razorbacks can hold 6 max as I recall. What was the thinking there?

They are my bulwark against the Terror. They are the Defenders of Humanity. They are my Space Marines, and they shall know no fear.

Razorbacks can hold a combat squad. Razorbacks have no fire points, what's the point of putting a ten point heavy weapon in there?

Also, razorbacks are cheap weapons platforms. What are you talking about?
