OK after everyones help on here, Thanks again. I have decided that I am going to run either Grey Knights or Dark Eldar.

That being said i need kind of a helpful pointer on where to start. I know that they both can be tricky but i would like a challenge.

I am also aware that there is no starter set for the Grey knights. That being said idk how much the dark eldar one gives me or what it entitles me to/if its even worth it. And I'm looking to not burn a whole through my pocket.

So i was wondering if anyone might list some type of options for me to start. Both Grey Knights and Dark Eldar.

If so also list some different HQ's and options and what they bring to the table!

If not thanks for reading anyways!

Grey Knights are the cheapest point/cost ratio army IMHO.

I play Dark Eldar so I am biased.

Depending on how many points you want to get though...
Most Dark Eldar useful HQs don't have models or look similar to normal warriors/wyches so you could always do conversions.

Don't know what list i can give you because I don't know what list points you want.

Well, both armies are not so easy to pull off at the competitive level. An experienced player can get DE to work, while a newb should better stay with an MEQ army first.

I am looking to get about 1,000 points because all of my buds up at the shop start at a 1000 and range to a 1750 usually. And my friends that I Usually play leave the cheese for the tourny's. Which I prolly will never play in just because of the cheese-fest that always happens in them. So i'm not to concerned with winning.

I know the Dark Eldar have many abilities that are really cool and not to mention pretty cool models.

The Grey Knights on the other hand do have cool abilities as well along with cool models, plus they don't cost a lot to get into.

So basically what im asking is what would be a good starting purchase for each army.. Ex: HQ, Troops, and possibly elites, fast attack..etc.
And ill compare price and comparability.

Thanks again guys for the help!
