I really am liking the stats and effectiveness of razorwing flocks and khymera in beast packs when i proxied them in games with my friend but i would like to actually model some but as you know the models are too expensive for what you get so does anyone have any suggestions or ideas for a good basis for razorwing flock and knymera conversions?

I've seen a lot of people use VC Dire Wolves for Kymera and Winged Rippers as Razorwings.

PM me if you want me to draw anything related to Warhmmer 40k. I will put it in my gallery for all to see.

Reaper is often the correct answer...unless of course you need to stick with GW for one reason or another.

Their phase cat should work the part of the Kymerae:

At retail, that isn't a huge savings over the GW Finecast figures, but it is still $4 bucks cheaper for two of them...figure 25-30% discount from various online stores to sweeten the deal.

On the Razorwings - you can buy the birds as singles from the animal companions pack:

Less than a dollar each. In order to add the razor to the razorwing, you can either work with the existing sculpts using paint or trim away the feathers and replace with more mechanical looking feathers made from putty or plasticard/brass.
