The Restrictions I Put On My Tallarn Lists:
- Missile Launchers are the only HW teams allowed in Infantry Squads.
- All units able to take the FW Desert Raider special rule, must take it in lists of 750 points or more.
- 1 unit of 10 Rough Riders is required for lists of 1000 points or more.
- 2 units of Mukaali Rough Riders are required for lists of 1000 points or more.
- No vehicles besides Chimera Armoured Transports and Hydra Flak Tank Batteries are allowed.
- Al'Rahem is required in lists of 1000 points or more.

The best thing to do as a new player is to buy the main rulebook and appropriate codex, which will answer basic rule questions like this.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

Peregrine is correct. A chimera has 5 fire points, this means that you can make 5 shooting attacks with anything inside per turn. If you have melta guns inside, they can shoot every turn.

A really common tactic is to put a veteran squad in the chimera loaded up with special weapons (usually melta or plasma).

Thanks. I have the codex, and an old rulebook. I'm getting the old one, but I don't have it yet.

Why the ass hattery? Not everybody can afford to keep up immediately and may have needed to put aside some money over a few weeks for a new rulebook. Just answer the mans question and be done with it.

Can't do that. It would be illegal. Specifically a violation of GW's IP rights.

They could shut Dakka down if we started doing that.

What we are allowed to do is clarify how rules work and interact with each other, which may involve posting parts of specific rules.

A rule question is not "I don't know what the rules for a skimmer are, can someone post them?"

A rule question is "I don't understand how skimmers interact with terrain. Specifically I can't wrap my head around what terrain is dangerous for them and whats ok for them to land on"

I love this. It's not asshattery to ask for other folks IP, but it's asshattery to politely respond like the quoted poster? Some people don't think

Lawyering aside, it's also a violation of dakka policy. We're not here to be a replacement for a rulebook, especially given how easy they are to download from BitTorrent, I mean borrow the books from a friend.

In any case, there are a couple of ways to shoot weapons from inside a transport. As mentioned, the chimera has one such method.
