Does the unit have the option to take these when upgrading from normal Guardians?

I really don't see how you can say no when Phil Kelly himself has used a Warlock in conjunction with Storm Guardians. As for the Serpent, I don't really see how you could say no to that either, even if GW haven't used a Wave Serpent with them in the past.
And to any Morons who think you can't, I say go talk to Phil Kelly, and tell him he can't have Warlock in Storm Guardian Squads yourself.

Sorry for calling you guys who disagree with me morons btw, but it's pretty obvious.

The time for using the knife to remove this cancer is long gone. Bring forth the torch.

The mind of the Farseer is utterly inhuman in its depth and complexity. Without mercy or moral feeling, his consciousness stands upon the edge of spiritual destruction. That he does not fall must be a result of constraints and balances that only an Eldar could understand. To a mere Human it is yet another reminder that we are but children in comparison to that ancient and powerful race.

Just because someone plays it a certain way, doesnt mean it can be. A rules page or quote is much more convincing than "soandso plays it".

How about this: the Guardian entry give you permission to purchase a Warlock while the Storm Guardian side-grade takes away your permission to buy a heavy weapon. Where, exactly, does it take away your permission to purchase a Warlock or a Wave Serpent?

I really need to stay away from the 40K forums.

What the codex author says is allowed or not allowed means nothing. Point in case, way back when I asked the author of the Ork codex (I was the head judge for the Baltimore Games Day RTT) whether or not you could Ram with a Deff Rolla. He said no, that Tank Shock and Ram were two separate game mechanics and the DR could only be used to TS. Couple years later we get an FAQ that says yes. So who is right, the author or the FAQ?

In this case, yes, you can still take those options for the Storm Guardian squad.

Thanks for the replies - just checking if upgrading the unit changed the unit (from Guardians to Storm Guardians) thus the confusion in writing as "Guardians" have the option to include a Warlock / Wave Serpent
