What is your favourite Horus Heresy novel/

1- A Thousand sons- Coz not everyone can summon firebolts and kill titans. Magnus was an awesome charachter, although sad in the end-the legion should have been loyal..

2- Fulgrim-great storyline, and Fulgrim was very cool, although I was really disturbed about the Ostian Delafour/Serena D'Angelus story

3. Know no fear- Ultramarines and Guilliam, finally gained my respect-awesome guys...

I'm going to have to say The First Heretic, I've read a few, haven't got too far through yet. Really liked Fulgrim but one terribly stupid moment which clashed with the Eldar player in me bumps it down below TFH.

First Heretic was pretty good. Funny how Lograr murdered the Custodian in the cave on Cadia. Leader Custode Aurelian is like 'So the casualties were three Astartes and one of my fellow custodians'. Lorgar is 'Eeyup'.

Legion definitely. I thought it was excellent.. especially that last line when the Marines start killing the human crew and the chick says "Why are you doing this?!" and the guy says "For the emperor.."

It kinda mind fethed me though. Like, surely that means that the Alpha Legion are fanatically loyal to the emperor then?

Thousand sons was also excellent mind. As you say, its tragic, Magnus was a good guy.

I have only the first 4 so far and getting ready to start Fulgrim. I would have to say my favorite so far was probably Galaxy in Flames. There was constant action and its when the treachery unfolds and you realise the magnitude of what Horus has planned.

all iv read so far is everything up2 legion but for the first 3 books where awesome. Loken is a bad ass. Does he make an appearance in any of the other books? id love to see him get revenge on abbadon and the remaining mournival and also does anybody know what happeed to little horus aximand?

Fulgrim for me followed closely by a thousand sons.

Welcome to Dakka My favorite is the first novel, the introduction to the whole universe really set the pace for the whole series.

so does loken end up a grey knight? if thats the case then its a pretty fitting role for him. i hope the black library bring out more books for him. I know garro ends up a grey knight which is cool because garro is a mean mutha

For me, Mechanicum, hands down. I grant you, I haven't read too many as yet (Horus Rising, reading the sequel now, and Mechanicum), but the fact that Mechanicum really gives you so much insight into the actions and motivations of the Emperor Himself is a huge thing for me. That and, of course, the combats between the scariest war machines ever to grace a battlefield.

Ive read up to Tales of Heresy.

I think the best novel, so far, was Galaxy in Flames. The whole fight on the planet of Isstvan III was well done. There was a lot of memorable scenes.

Notable mention was the one short story in Tales of Heresy about the squad of Space Wolves waging a guerrilla war against Dark Eldar raiders. I'm not a Space Wolf guy, but that was a good story.

Prospero Burns - Told from a really odd perspective. Initially really hard to wrap my head around but roared along once I got used to it
Great action, lots of depth.

Legion would be number 2 as it really has so many twists and turns.
